Coauthorship and institutional collaborations on cost-effectiveness analyses: a systematic network analysis

2012

BackgroundCost-Effectiveness Analysis (CEA) has been promoted as an important research methodology for determining the efficiency of healthcare technology and guiding medical decision-making. Our aim was to characterize the collaborative patterns of CEA conducted over the past two decades in Spain. Methods and findingsA systematic analysis was carried out with the information obtained through an updated comprehensive literature review and from reports of health technology assessment agencies. We identified CEAs with outcomes expressed as a time-based summary measure of population health (e.g. quality-adjusted life-years or disability-adjusted life-years), conducted in Spain and published bet…

John Lehmann’s New Writing: The Duty to Be Tormented

2011

John Lehmann’s magazine New Writing, launched in 1936, may be said to give literary historians a slow-motion image of the evolution of artistic consciousness in one of the most turbulent periods of the twentieth century. Throughout the fourteen years of its existence, encompassing the Spanish Civil War and the Second World War, the magazine covers a neglected period of transition in the evolution of modernism. Through his editorial policy and a susceptible interpretation of the Zeitgeist, Lehmann voices the particular torments of his generation, too young to have participated in the First World War, but deeply affected by it. The magazine constitutes an attempt to change the role and social…

Electrochemical identification of painters/workshops: The case of Valencian Renaissance-Baroque painters (ca. 1550- ca. 1670)

2019

[EN] The voltammetry of immobilized particles (VIMP) methodology was applied to discriminate the oil painting production of a series of seven painters/workshops that worked in Valencia (Spain) between ca. 1530 and ca. 1650. When submicrosamples used for cross-section FESEM/EDX analysis were attached to graphite electrodes in contact with aqueous acetate buffer, well-defined responses were obtained. The reductive processes of lead pigments (lead white and lead-tin yellow) overlapped those associated to the lead soaps and other species resulting from the pigment-oil binder interaction in the sample. Such responses, which are theoretically modeled, were sensitive to changes in paint type and d…

Gender differences in original Archivos de Bronconeumología publications, 2001-2018

2021

Abstract Introduction Gender inequality exists in scientific publications. The aim of this study was to determine changing patterns in gender differences and factors associated with the positioning of authors’ names in original articles published in Archivos de Bronconeumologia (AB). Methods We performed a bibliometric study of articles published in AB between 2001 and 2018. Author gender was analyzed in four scenarios: first author, last author, middle authors, and mentee authors. Comparisons were made by authors’ specialties, funding received, multicenter studies, specialist areas, and others. Multivariate models adjusted for the percentage of registered physicians in the Spanish health s…

Authorship in Facilitated Communication: An Analysis of 11 Cases

2014

Abstract. We studied the authorship of messages produced through facilitated communication (FC) for all users of FC in two comprehensive schools in a small city in Finland. The participants were 11 children with intellectual disabilities, including autism, all having used FC from 1 to 3 years. The test conditions involved open and blind information-passing tasks in which the participants were directed to write down the contents of written or pictorial stimuli. The results failed to validate FC as a method of communication for any participant or facilitator. An analysis of the messages produced under the FC condition revealed a large degree of facilitator influence on the content of the mess…

Evolution of coauthorship networks: worldwide scientific production on leishmaniasis.

2013

Introduction Collaboration is one of the defining features of contemporary scientific research, and it is particularly important with regard to neglected diseases that primarily affect developing countries. Methods The present study has identified publications on leishmaniasis in the Medline database from 1945 to 2010, analyzing them according to bibliometric indicators and statistics from social network analysis. Examining aspects such as scientific production, diachronic evolution, and collaboration and configuration of the research groups in the field, we have considered the different types of Leishmania studied and the institutional affiliation and nationality of the authors. Results Se…

Review of E.J. Bakker, ed., Authorship and Greek Song: Authority, Authenticity and Performance (Studies in Archaic and Classical Greek Song, Vol. 3),…

2019

The innovative idea shared by all the essays in the volume consists in the identification of authority as the cornerstone of a poetic piece of art, independent from both the context of its original performance—considering its reperformances in different times and contexts—and its performers, within a wider and more variegated cultural landscape than the original context of a given song. Such an approach especially highlights the idea of the survival of songs through generations, beyond the social and political context, the performers, and the audience of their first performance, from a panhellenic perspective.

Estilo y autoría en la información. Una aparente ausencia de identidad

2009

Dolors.

Poezja Zaolzia : szkic

2017

The sketch on poetry of Zaolzie is an attempt to analyze the leading authors in the region in the years 1920-2016. The period was divided into sub-periods: the interwar years - the period of creative activity of such poets as K. Berger, O. Zawisza, L. Kobiela and the debutants: A. Fierla, P. Kubisz, J. Ondrusz, G. Przeczek, J.S. Polaczek. In the year 1936, there was established the Section of Literature and Art at Macierz Szkolna [Polish Schools Organization], which aimed to formally protect Polish artistic activity in Zaolzie. This did not satisfy the expectations of young creators, though, and therefore a year later there was founded Śląski Związek Literacko-Artystyczny [Silesian Literary…
