Localization from inertial data and sporadic position measurements

International audience; A novel estimation strategy for inertial navigation in indoor/outdoor environments is proposed with a specific attention to the sporadic nature of the non-periodic measurements. After introducing the inertial navigation model, we introduce an observer providing an asymptotic estimate of the plant state. We use a hybrid dynamical systems representation for our results, in order to provide an effective, and elegant theoretical framework. Stratified Autocalibration of Cameras with Euclidean Image Plane

International audience; This paper tackles the problem of stratified autocalibration of a moving camera with Euclidean image plane (i.e. zero skew and unit aspect ratio) and constant intrinsic parameters. We show that with these assumptions, in addition to the polynomial derived from the so-called modulus constraint, each image pair provides a new quartic polynomial in the unknown plane at infinity. For three or more images, the plane at infinity estimation is stated as a constrained polynomial optimization problem that can efficiently be solved using Lasserre's hierarchy of semidefinite relaxations. Multi sensorial cues (visual, auditory, haptic, inertial, vestibular, neuromuscular) [Ang2] play important roles to represent a proper sensation (objectively) and so a perception (subjectively as cognition) in driving simulators. Driving simulator aims at giving the sensation of driving as in a real case. For a similar situation, the driver has to react in the same way as in reality in terms of ‘self motion’. I-Weed robot : un outil pour l'étude de population de plantes adventices

The I-Weed robot is a small autonomous platform that aims to characterize the vegetation in an inter-row maize crop for a spot spraying: spraying is done only where a weed is detected. This article presents how the robot works and aims to experimentally evaluate the ability to map weeds from a WeedSeeker system (Trimble) embedded on the I-Weed robot. The results are compared to those from an imaging system, used as ground truth. After analyzing a confusion matrix, it reveals that the system is able to correctly geotag plants at 75 % and is ready for a spot spraying.

Tungsten oxide thin films sputter deposited by the reactive gas pulsing process for the dodecane detection

International audience; The DC reactive magnetron sputtering of a metallic tungsten target was performed in an argon + oxygen atmosphere for depositing tungsten oxide thin films. In order to control the oxygen concentration in the films, the reactive gas pulsing process, namely RGPP, was implemented. Rectangular pulses were used with a constant pulsing period T = 16 s whereas the duty cycle α (time of oxygen injection to pulsing period T ratio) was systematically changed from 0 to 100% of T.
