Tensor charges and form factors of SU(3) baryons in the self-consistent SU(3) chiral quark-soliton model
2010
We investigate the tensor form factors of the baryon octet within the framework of the chiral quark-soliton model, emphasizing those of the nucleon, taking linear 1/N_c rotational as well as linear m_s corrections into account, and applying the symmetry-conserving quantization. We explicitly calculate the tensor form factors H_{T}^{q}(Q^{2}) corresponding to the generalized parton distributions H_{T}(x,\xi,t). The tensor form factors are obtained for the momentum transfer up to Q^{2}\leq1\,\mathrm{GeV}^{2} and at a renormalization scale of 0.36\,\mathrm{GeV}^{2}. We find for the tensor charges \delta u=1.08, \delta d=-0.32, \delta s=-0.01 and discuss their physical consequences, comparing t…
Triply heavy baryons and heavy quark spin symmetry
2011
We study the semileptonic $b\to c$ decays of the lowest-lying triply-heavy baryons made from $b$ and $c$ quarks in the limit $m_b, m_c \gg \Lambda_\mathrm{QCD}$ and close to the zero recoil point. The separate heavy quark spin symmetries strongly constrain the matrix elements, leading to single form factors for $ccb\to ccc$, $bbc\to ccb$, and $bbb\to bbc$ baryon decays. We also study the effects on these systems of using a $Y$-shaped confinement potential, as suggested by lattice QCD results for the interaction between three static quarks.

Stability of multiquarks in a simple string model
2007
A simple string model inspired by the strong-coupling regime of Quantum ChromoDynamics is used as a potential for studying the spectrum of multiquark systems with two quarks and two antiquarks, with a careful treatment of the four-body problem. It is found that the ground state is stable, lying below the threshold for dissociation into two isolated mesons.
Spectroscopy of doubly charmed baryons
2004
We study the mass spectrum of baryons with two and three charmed quarks. For double charm baryons the spin splitting is found to be smaller than standard quark-model potential predictions. This splitting is not influenced either by the particular form of the confining potential or by the regularization taken for the contact term of the spin-spin potential. We consistently predict the spectra for triply charmed baryons.
Stability of hexaquarks in the string limit of confinement
2011
The stability of systems containing six quarks or antiquarks is studied within a simple string model inspired by the strong-coupling regime of quantum chromodynamics and used previously for tetraquarks and pentaquarks. We discuss both six-quark $(q^6)$ and three-quark--three-antiquark $ (q^3\bar q{}^3)$ states. The quarks are assumed to be distinguishable and thus not submitted to antisymmetrization. It is found that the ground state of $(q^6)$ is stable against dissociation into two isolated baryons. For the case of $ (q^3\bar q{}^3)$, our results indicate the existence of a bound state very close to the threshold. The investigations are extended to $(q^3Q^3)$ and $(Q^3\bar q^3)$ systems w…
Stable heavy pentaquarks in constituent models
2017
It is shown that standard constituent quark models produce $(\bar c c qqq)$ hidden-charm pentaquarks, where $c$ denotes the charmed quark and $q$ a light quark, which lie below the lowest threshold for spontaneous dissociation and thus are stable in the limit where the internal $\bar c c$ annihilation is neglected. The binding is a cooperative effect of the chromoelectric and chromomagnetic components of the interaction, and it disappears in the static limit with a pure chromoelectric potential. Their wave function contains color sextet and color octet configurations for the subsystems and can hardly be reduced to a molecular state made of two interacting hadrons. These pentaquark states co…
Observation of Two NewΞb−Baryon Resonances
2015
Two structures are observed close to the kinematic threshold in the Ξb0π- mass spectrum in a sample of proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0fb-1, recorded by the LHCb experiment. In the quark model, two baryonic resonances with quark content bds are expected in this mass region: the spin-parity JP=(1/2)+ and JP=(3/2)+ states, denoted Ξb′- and Ξb∗-. Interpreting the structures as these resonances, we measure the mass differences and the width of the heavier state to be m(Ξb′-)-m(Ξb0)-m(π-)=3.653±0.018±0.006MeV/c2, m(Ξb∗-)-m(Ξb0)-m(π-)=23.96±0.12±0.06MeV/c2, Γ(Ξb∗-)=1.65±0.31±0.10MeV, where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systema…
Exclusive semi-leptonic decays of bottom baryons
1990
Abstract We calculate the exclusive semi-leptonic bottom baryon decays Λ b →Λ c +l − + v l , Σ b → Σ c +l − + v l and Σ b →Σ c ∗ +l − + v l in the spectator quark model. The helicity structure of the baryonic current transitions Λb→Λc, Σ b →Σ c (Σ c ∗ ) is matched to the helicity structure of the free quark current transitions b → c at minimum momentum transfer q2 = 0. The results are continued to q2≠0 by pole dominated form factors. We obtain semi-leptonic baryonic decay rates which are close to the corresponding semi-leptonic mesonic decay rates.
Electromagnetic form factors of spin 1/2 doubly charmed baryons
2018
We study the electromagnetic form factors of the doubly charmed baryons, using covariant chiral perturbation theory within the extended on-mass-shell (EOMS) scheme. Vector-meson contributions are also taken into account. We present results for the baryon magnetic moments, charge and magnetic radii. While some of the chiral Lagrangian parameters could be set to values determined in previous works, the available lattice results for $\Xi_{cc}^+$ and $\Omega_{cc}^+$ only allow for robust constraints on the low-energy constant (LEC) combination, $c_{89}(=-\frac{1}{3}c_8+4c_9)$. The couplings of the doubly charmed baryons to the vector mesons have been estimated assuming the Okubo--Zweig--Iizuka …
