Robust L1 fixed-order filtering for switched LPV systems with parameter-dependent delays

2015

Abstract This paper is concerned with the L1 fixed-order filtering problem for a class of switched linear parameter-varying (LPV) systems in which the system matrices and the time delays are dependent on the real-time measured parameters. The authors׳ attention is concentrated on designing the fixed-order filter that guarantees the filtering error system to be exponentially stable and to satisfy a prescribed L1 disturbance attenuation level with respect to all amplitude-bounded disturbances. Based on the switching logic with the minimum average dwell time (ADT), the delay-dependent L1 performance criterion for the switched LPV systems is first established. As there exists coupling between a…

Faults diagnosis based on proportional integral observer for TS fuzzy model with unmeasurable premise variable

2014

In this work, we focus on the synthesis of a Proportional Integral (PI) observer for the actuators and sensors faults diagnosis based on Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy model with unmeasurable premise variables. The faults estimation method is based on the assumption that these faults act as unknown inputs under polynomials form whose their kth derivatives are bounded. The convergence conditions of the observer as well as the faults reconstruction are established on the basis of the Lyapunov stability theory and the L 2 optimization technique, expressed as Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMI) constraints. In order to validate the proposed approach, a hydraulic system with two tanks is proposed.

Molecular structures of Se(SCH3)2 and Te(SCH3)2 using gas-phase electron diffraction and ab initio and DFT geometry optimisations

2005

The molecular structures of Se(SCH3)2 and Te(SCH3)2 were investigated using gas-phase electron diffraction (GED) and ab initio and DFT geometry optimisations. While parameters involving H atoms were refined using flexible restraints according to the SARACEN method, parameters that depended only on heavy atoms could be refined without restraints. The GED-determined geometric parameters (rh1) are: rSe-S 219.1(1), rS-C 183.2(1), rC-H 109.6(4) pm; S-Se-S 102.9(3), Se-S-C 100.6(2), S-C-H (mean) 107.4(5), S-Se-S-C 87.9(20), Se-S-C-H 178.8(19)° for Se(SCH3)2, and rTe-S 238.1(2), rS-C 184.1(3), rC-H 110.0(6) pm; S-Te-S 98.9(6), Te-S-C 99.7(4), S-C-H (mean) 109.2(9), S-Te-S-C 73.0(48), Te-S-C-H 180.…

Transmembrane form agrin-induced process formation requires lipid rafts and the activation of Fyn and MAPK.

2009

Overexpression or clustering of the transmembrane form of the extracellular matrix heparan sulfate proteoglycan agrin (TM-agrin) induces the formation of highly dynamic filopodia-like processes on axons and dendrites from central and peripheral nervous system-derived neurons. Here we show that the formation of these processes is paralleled by a partitioning of TM-agrin into lipid rafts, that lipid rafts and transmembrane-agrin colocalize on the processes, that extraction of lipid rafts with methyl-β-cyclodextrin leads to a dose-dependent reduction of process formation, that inhibition of lipid raft synthesis prevents process formation, and that the continuous presence of lipid rafts is requ…

Complete basis set B3LYP NMR calculations of CDCl3solvent's water fine spectral details

2008

The assignment of singlet at 1.55 ppm and the 1:1:1 triplet at 1.519 ppm to H2O and HOD in the 400 MHz 1H NMR spectrum of CDCl3 solvent were supported by complete basis set (CBS) GIAO-B3LYP calculated chemical shift and the CBS B3LYP estimated 2J(D,H) spin–spin coupling constant (SSCC). The CBS fitting of B3LYP/cc-pCVxZ and B3LYP/pcJ-n predicted SSCC values, the accurate value of 2J(D,H) = − 1.082 ± 0.030 Hz of HOD in chloroform-d1 and the H/D isotopic shift of 0.0307(1) ppm were reported for the first time. The agreement between CBS B3LYP predicted chemical shift, spin–spin values and experiment was good. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Linus Pauling’s Breakthrough to the Theory of Aromatic Compounds and Hückel’s Reaction

2009

In the mid-1930s Wheland and Pauling set out to find a quantum theoretical basis for Ingold’s general electronic theory of organic reactions. A brief outline of Ingold’s main concepts will provide the necessary background for an evaluation of their contribution and Huckel’s discussion of it.

High Rate of Recurrent De Novo Mutations in Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathies

2017

Item does not contain fulltext Developmental and epileptic encephalopathy (DEE) is a group of conditions characterized by the co-occurrence of epilepsy and intellectual disability (ID), typically with developmental plateauing or regression associated with frequent epileptiform activity. The cause of DEE remains unknown in the majority of cases. We performed whole-genome sequencing (WGS) in 197 individuals with unexplained DEE and pharmaco-resistant seizures and in their unaffected parents. We focused our attention on de novo mutations (DNMs) and identified candidate genes containing such variants. We sought to identify additional subjects with DNMs in these genes by performing targeted sequ…

FM19G11, a New Hypoxia-inducible Factor (HIF) Modulator, Affects Stem Cell Differentiation Status

2009

The biology of the alpha subunits of hypoxia-inducible factors (HIF alpha) has expanded from their role in angiogenesis to their current position in the self-renewal and differentiation of stem cells. The results reported in this article show the discovery of FM19G11, a novel chemical entity that inhibits HIF alpha proteins that repress target genes of the two alpha subunits, in various tumor cell lines as well as in adult and embryonic stem cell models from rodents and humans, respectively. FM19G11 inhibits at nanomolar range the transcriptional and protein expression of Oct4, Sox2, Nanog, and Tgf-alpha undifferentiating factors, in adult rat and human embryonic stem cells, FM19G11 activit…

Collaborative roles of Temporoparietal Junction and Dorsolateral Prefrontal Cortex in Different Types of Behavioural Flexibility

2017

AbstractBehavioural flexibility is essential for everyday life. This involves shifting attention between different perspectives. Previous studies suggest that flexibility is mainly subserved by the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC). However, although rarely emphasized, the temporoparietal junction (TPJ) is frequently recruited during flexible behaviour. A crucial question is whether TPJ plays a role in different types of flexibility, compared to its limited role in perceptual flexibility. We hypothesized that TPJ activity during diverse flexibility tasks plays a common role in stimulus-driven attention-shifting, thereby contributing to different types of flexibility, and thus the colla…
