Idea filozofii mądrościowej w lubelskiej szkole filozoficznej
2016
The concept of wisdom philosophy was developed by the representatives of Lublin Philosophical School (S. Swieżawski, M.A. Krąpiec, S. Kamiński)and inspired by French philosophers (E. Gilson and J. Maritain). In his work Science et sagesse (Science and Wisdom) Maritain distinguishes three types of wisdom — mystical, theological and metaphysical. It is the concept of metaphysical wisdom that the thinkers from Lublin philosophical school focused on and developed. Wisdom is the existential position when one understands reality, and is assumed via the philosophical contemplation of being. Wisdom philosophy strives to explain the very fact of being and to know the transcendental attributes of bei…
Endotrophin, a pro-peptide of Type VI collagen, is a biomarker of survival in cirrhotic patients with hepatocellular carcinoma
2021
Aim: Type VI collagen, is emerging as a signaling collagen originating from different types of fibroblasts. A specific fragment of Type VI collagen, the pro-peptide, is also known as the hormone endotrophin. We hypothesized that this fibroblast hormone would be of particular relevance in cancer types with a high amount of fibrosis activity, namely for outcome in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cirrhotic patients. Patients & methods: Plasma C6M, PRO-C6 and alphafeto-protein (AFP) were assessed in 309 patients with mixed etiologies (hepatitis C, hepatitis B, alcohol and nonalcoholic fatty liver) diagnosed as cirrhotics, cirrhotics with HCC, noncirrhotics and healthy controls. Progression-f…
Climas motivacionales, motivación autodeterminada, afectos y burnout en deportistas: enfoque multinivel
2017
Watersport and juvenile criminal justice: social projects for individual and community well-being
2023
Background:Intervention projects in social and psychological fields envisage actions aimed at creating a network not only among institutions and informal support but also an opportunity for the promotion of well-being, individuals and communities. Methods:This project was based on an active and individual-centered approach that involved in 2020, 6 young people from the Palermo Juvenile Prison, involving their awareness and participation in planned activities that involved the use of a water sport (snorkeling) to offer them an opportunity for change. Results:The adoption of watersport has been a successful methodology, as they are based on sharing standards, individual responsibility and mut…
An Early Stage Researcher's Primer on Systems Medicine Terminology
2021
Background: Systems Medicine is a novel approach to medicine, that is, an interdisciplinary field that considers the human body as a system, composed of multiple parts and of complex relationships at multiple levels, and further integrated into an environment. Exploring Systems Medicine implies understanding and combining concepts coming from diametral different fields, including medicine, biology, statistics, modeling and simulation, and data science. Such heterogeneity leads to semantic issues, which may slow down implementation and fruitful interaction between these highly diverse fields. Methods: In this review, we collect and explain more than100 terms related to Systems Medicine. Thes…
Validation and Measurement Invariance of the Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE) in a Spanish General Sample
2020
Este artículo se encuentra disponible en la siguiente URL: https://www.mdpi.com/1660-4601/17/22/8359 Este artículo pertenece a la sección "Health behavior, chronic disease and health promotion". Well-being has been measured based on di erent perspectives in positive psychology. However, it is necessary to measure a ects and emotions correctly and to explore the independence of positive and negative a ect. This cross-sectional study adapts and validates the Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE) with a non-probabilistic sample of 821 Spanish adults. A confirmatory factor analysis confirmed two related factors with two correlated errors. The average variance extracted was 0.502 for…
Adaptation and Measurement Invariance by Gender of the Flourishing Scale in a Colombian Sample
2021
There is increasing interest in the study of flourishing as an indicator of subjective wellbeing. The objective herein was to adapt and study the psychometric properties of Diener’s Flourishing Scale (FS) among the Colombian population. Accordingly, a cross-sectional study was conducted with a non-probability sample of 1255 Colombian adults. The scale’s structure, invariance by gender, and convergent and concurrent validity were studied from a confirmatory perspective using structural equation models. The confirmatory factor analysis showed excellent fit indicators for the one-dimensional structure (CFI = 0.985, RMSEA = 0.039, SRMR = 0.020) as well as for the convergent (CFI = 0.909, RMSEA …
Decentering, Acceptance, and Non-Attachment : Challenging the Question "Is It Me?"
2021
Among mindfulness measures the three constructs acceptance, decentering, and non-attachment are psychometrically closely related, despite their apparent semantic differences. These three facets present robust psychometric features and can be considered core themes in most “third wave” clinical models. The aim of the present study was to explore the apparently different content domains (acceptance, decentering, and non-attachment) by administering various psychometric scales in a large sample of 608 volunteers. Resilience and depression were also assessed. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses performed in two randomly selected subsamples showed a bifactor approximation. The explained…

Does Organizational Work-Family Support Benefit Temporary and Permanent Employees Equally in a Work-Family Conflict Situation in Relation to Job Sati…
2016
This study examined whether work–family support (WF support) buffers permanent and temporary workers similarly against the negative effects of work–family conflict as regard job satisfaction and emotional energy level at work and at home. A total of 1,719 Finnish nurses participated in this study in 2009. The results revealed that high coworker WF support protected temporary workers against the negative effects of high work–family conflict on emotional energy at work. Furthermore, temporary workers with low coworker WF support were at greater risk of job dissatisfaction and diminished emotional energy at home than were their permanent colleagues in the presence of high work–family conflict…
