In insects, xenobiotic-metabolizing enzymes were demonstrated to regulate pheromones inactivation, clearing them from the olfactory periphery and keeping receptors ready for stimulation renewal. Here, we investigate whether similar processes could occur in mammals, focusing on the pheromonal communication between female rabbits and their newborns. Common birthmarks can be an indicator of underlying genetic disease but are often overlooked. Mongolian blue spots (dermal melanocytosis) are usually localized and transient, but they can be extensive, permanent, and associated with extracutaneous abnormalities. Co-occurrence with vascular birthmarks defines a subtype of phakomatosis pigmentovascularis, a group of syndromes associated with neurovascular, ophthalmological, overgrowth, and malignant complications. Abstract To understand the effect of temperature, pH and the composition of alcoholic beverages in flavour-protein interactions, the binding of γ-decalactone to bovine serum albumin (BSA) was investigated using the equilibrium dialysis method. Thermodynamic analysis revealed that the affinity of aroma compound for BSA is higher at 10 °C than at 20 and 30 °C, while the number of binding sites (n = 6–7) is not modified at the three temperatures. pH did not have any appreciable effect on flavour binding in the presence of ethanol, but it was observed that a decrease of 1.8 pH unit reduces binding by 40% in its absence. In this work, we have investigated the crystalline-size dependence of optical absorption and photoluminescence emission of CH3NH3PbI3 films, which is necessary to identify the potential practical applications of the gadgets based on perovskite films. This study was carried out at low temperatures to minimize the extra complexity induced by thermal effects. The purpose was to clarify the origin of the dual emission peak previously reported in the literature.
