Host–guest blue light-emitting electrochemical cells

2014

Carbazole, a commonly used hole-transporter for organic electronics, has been modified with an imidazolium cation and a hexafluorophosphate counter-anion to give an ionic hole-transporter. It has been applied as one of the hosts in a host–guest blue light-emitting electrochemical cell (LEC) with the neutral blue emitter FIrPic. We have obtained efficient and bright blue LECs with an electroluminescence maximum at 474 nm and efficacy of 5 cd A−1 at a luminance of 420 cd m−2, thereby demonstrating the potential of the ionic organic charge-transporters and of the host–guest architecture for LECs.

Nonlinear magneto-optical rotation in rubidium vapor excited with blue light

2015

We present experimental and numerical studies of nonlinear magneto-optical rotation (NMOR) in rubidium vapor excited with resonant light tuned to the $5^2\!S_{1/2}\rightarrow 6^2\!P_{1/2}$ absorption line (421~nm). Contrary to the experiments performed to date on the strong $D_1$ or $D_2$ lines, in this case, the spontaneous decay of the excited state $6^2\!P_{1/2}$ may occur via multiple intermediate states, affecting the dynamics, magnitude and other characteristics of NMOR. Comparing the experimental results with the results of modelling based on Auzinsh et al., Phys. Rev. A 80, 1 (2009), we demonstrate that despite the complexity of the structure, NMOR can be adequately described with a…

Effects of UV and Blue Light on the Bipotential Changes in Etiolated Hypocotyl Hooks of Dwarf Beans

1980

One of the most complex topics to study in biology is the ability of organism to perceive, code, transmit, and integrate environmental information, which is used to direct the cellular metabolism and developmental processes occurring. The detection of different wavelengths of light by specific mechanism plays a key role in plant development. Although great progress has been made in the study of plant photoreceptor pigments, some pigment systems are understood better than others.

Effects of Kinetin and Different Light Qualities on the Content of Carbohydrates

1983

Summary The effects of kinetin on the content of soluble redueing sugars, starch, soluble proteins and various components of the photosynthetic apparatus were studied with primary leaves of Sinapis alba, which were grown under different light qualities (white, red, blue Jight conditions). It was especially the content of soluble reducing sugars that was most influenced by kinetin. The enhancement of the sugar content was dependent on the duration of application as well as on the concentration of kinetin. The doseresponse curve shows that the sugar content strongly increased at low kinetin eoneentrations (0.01 to 1 mg · 1-1), whereas from 1 mg · 1-1 onwards the inerease was slower and linear…

Zilās gaismas draudu kumulatīvā analīze

2022

Comparison of the Effects of Indole-3-Acetic Acid and Kinetin on the Photosynthetic Apparatus and on the Cell Metabolism

1984

External and internal factors can exert a regulatory influence on growth and differentiation within a reaction norm determined by the genetic material. As to the internal factors, the phytohormones intervene in the most development processes in a regulatory manner. In a number of publications it was pointed out that there is a far-reaching accordance between the effects caused by I.4A and the effects induced by red light and low light conditions (Zerbe, Wild, 1980 a; Holzapfel et al., 1982 a). Plants of Sinapis alba grown under low light conditions but additionally treated with kinetin show changes in their metabolism that are characteristic of plants grown at higher light intensities (Zerb…

Combined Analysis of the Effects of Exposure to Blue Light in Ducks Reveals a Reduction in Cholesterol Accumulation Through Changes in Methionine Met…

2021

Monochromatic light is widely used in industry, medical treatment, and animal husbandry. Green-blue light has been found to stimulate the proliferation of satellite cells and the results of studies on the effects of blue light on poultry vary widely. It would be worthwhile to study the effect of blue light on poultry growth and how exposure to blue light affects metabolism and the intestinal microbiota. In this study, we irradiated Cherry Valley ducks with 460 nm wavelength light (blue light) for 3 weeks to explore the effects of blue light in comparison to those of white light (combined wavelength light) on animal growth and development. Our results showed that, under exposure to blue ligh…

The influence of blue light on the Dionaea muscipula cultivation

2018

Jedną z hodowli poddano oddziaływaniu światła niebieskiego, a drugą - kontrolną prowadzono w warunkach oddziaływania światła słonecznego. Prowadzono pomiary morfolo…
