Neuromuscular responses to explosive and heavy resistance loading

The EMG power spectrum may shift towards higher frequencies with higher movement velocities. Fatigue, on the other hand, can cause a decrease in the frequency components. The purpose of this study was to examine acute effects of explosive (EE) and heavy resistance (HRE) concentric leg press exercise on muscle force, EMG and blood lactate. The EE included five sets of ten repetitions with 40+/-6% of the isometric maximum at a 100 degrees knee angle performed as explosively as possible. This study examines the correlates of authoritative (warmth and strictness), indulgent (warmth but not strictness), authoritarian (strictness but not warmth), and neglectful (neither warmth nor strictness) parenting with short- and long-term socialization outcomes in adolescents and adults, with and without poor school performance during adolescence. Abstract Objectives : The maturation of subcortical SEPs in young children. Methods : Median nerve SEPs were recorded during sleep in 42 subjects aged 0–48 months. Active electrodes were at the ipsilateral Erb's point, the lower and upper dorsal neck, and the frontal and contralateral centroparietal scalp; reference electrodes were at the contralateral Erb's point, the ipsilateral earlobe and the frontal scalp; bandpass was 10–3000 Hz. Sinus of Valsalva aneurysm is a rare congenital defect and the diagnosis is usually made after it ruptures. Very few cases of non-complicated sinus of Valsalva aneurysm have been published. The anomaly most often involves the right coronary sinus and less frequently the non-coronary sinus. A case with left sinus of Valsalva has not been reported. Since the aortic valve occupies a central position in the base of the heart, rupture of a sinus of Valsalva aneurysm can occur in any of the four heart chambers. NEUROMUSCULAR PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS OF OPEN-WHEEL AND RALLY DRIVERS

The purpose of the present study was to investigate neuromuscular performance characteristics in open-wheel and rally drivers using the cross-sectional study design. The subjects (N = 28) consisted of experienced international-level open-wheel drivers (n = 9), experienced international-level rally drivers (n = 9) and a physically active nondriving male control group (n = 10). In 3 separate test sessions, speed, muscle strength, and endurance tests were performed. BACKGROUND. The early detection and treatment of tumor recurrences in melanoma patients is dependent on reliable, sensitive, and specific techniques to verify suspected tumor metastases. As of now, fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) has yet to establish itself in the routine follow-up of melanoma patients. METHODS. Grip force regulates hand impedance to optimize object stability in high impact loads

Anticipatory grip force adjustments are a prime example of the predictive nature of motor control. An object held in precision grip is stabilized by fine adjustments of the grip force against changes in tangential load force arising from inertia during acceleration and deceleration. When an object is subject to sudden impact loads, prediction becomes critical as the time available for sensory feedback is very short.
