Anti-Racism from the Margins: Welcoming Refugees at Schengen’s Northernmost Border

2018

Through events of solidarity with refugees that unfolded at the Arctic border between Norway and Russia in 2015, we critically address two common analyses of racism and humanitarianism. First, we argue that the often-claimed explanation that racism results from disenfranchised social class fails to identify solidarities across marginalized groups. Furthermore, as anti-Muslim racism has become more mainstream in the Nordic region, solidarity with refugees offers critical positions in relation to political centers. Second, the case demonstrates how humanitarian action and politicized refugee activism are not necessarily separate forms of action but more entangled forms of engagement. The case…

Learning and motor and mental health profiles in pupils with Borderline Intellectual Functioning and Average Intellectual Functioning

2018

There is a lack of research addressing the study of the Borderline Intellectual Functioning (BIF) in school-aged population. In children and adolescents with BIF high rates of school complaints, movement impairments and mental health disorders have been demonstrated. This study aims at comparing learning, motor and mental health profiles showed by pupils with BIF and pupils with Average Intellectual Functioning (AIF). Participants were 19 children with BIF and 19 with AIF. Learning, motor and mental health profiles were measured by multiple tests. Results show that pupils with BIF showed lower comprehension and decoding reading abilities, lower word and non-word reading as well as lower mat…

Vivere ai margini. Comunità rom tra i borderscapes

2016

Latency factor in worldwide IP routed networks

2014

Current Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) serves for worldwide internet backbone connections between different Autonomous Systems (AS) on the routing level. Continuously in real-time changing environment core routers calculate routing decisions based on path-vector database entries. AS path-vector database may contain multiple paths for various Internet Protocol (IP) prefix destinations where smallest entity in the path-vector is AS. In real world AS can be internet service operator, university or any other organization willing to participate in internet network via multi-homed uplinks. Unfortunately, internal part of AS is hidden in path-vector database thus excluding factors like latency, pac…

Individual participant data systematic reviews with meta-analyses of psychotherapies for borderline personality disorder

2021

IntroductionThe heterogeneity in people with borderline personality disorder (BPD) and the range of specialised psychotherapies means that people with certain BPD characteristics might benefit more or less from different types of psychotherapy. Identifying moderating characteristics of individuals is a key to refine and tailor standard treatments so they match the specificities of the individual participant. The objective of this is to improve the quality of care and the individual outcomes. We will do so by performing three systematic reviews with meta-analyses of individual participant data (IPD). The aim of these reviews is to investigate potential predictors and moderating patient chara…

Relacje polsko-żydowskie w powiecie wieluńskim w II Rzeczypospolitej

2022
