Background and importance Drug shortages have become a worldwide phenomenon which has repercussions on patient care and on the hospital’s budget. Aim and objectives The aim of our study was to assess the risk of shortages of drugs included in our hospital therapeutic formulary (HTF), for which there is shortage reporting, using a hazard vulnerability analysis (HVA). Material and methods We performed an HVA on 43 drugs in our HTF, which were also included in the Italian Medicines Agency list of shortages. We examined whether peroxidase activity in cutting bases and leaves and starch content in cutting bases can be used as rooting phase markers in the elepidote rhododendron cv. 'Babites Baltais' (Rhododendron L.). Changes in peroxidase activity in cutting leaves and bases, as well as starch content in cutting bases, were determined in relation to anatomical stages of rhizogenesis in leaf bud cuttings treated with 1% indole-3-butyric acid (IBA+) or without IBA (IBA–). W trakcie XIX-wiecznych kasat klasztorów na obszarze cesarstwa rosyjskiego względy ekonomiczne stanowił istotny, może najważniejszy, ale niejedyny czynnik, uwzględniany przy podejmowaniu decyzji o zniesieniu domu zakonnego. Oficjalnie władze rosyjskie głosiły, że cały majątek klasztorny miał być wykorzystany na utrzymanie szkół oraz instytucji opiekuńczych i charytatywnych. W rzeczywistości przejęte ziemskie dobra klasztorne zasiliły skarb publiczny, a mienie z różnych powodów niezbywalne powiększyło majątek, pozostający w dyspozycji władz gubernialnych oraz Cerkwi prawosławnej. Archiwum Parafii w Rząśni zawiera interesujące dokumenty ukazujące działalność ks. Rocha Nieszporskiego w tej parafii w okresie 44 lat. Powierzono mu stanowisko proboszcza, ponieważ posiadał odpowiednie walory moralne i doświadczenie w pracy duszpasterskiej. Początki jego pracy były trudne ze względu na mały i znajdujący się w złym stanie technicznym kościół oraz niski poziom religijności mieszkańców. Udało mu się pozyskać odpowiednie środki na budowę nowej murowanej świątyni. Głównymi jej fundatorami byli Franciszka i Maciej Płaczkowscy.
