Single Point Incremental Forming: analysis of sustainability of the process through an experimental approach

2013

In literature, manufacturing processes have been studied with different approaches, but a lack of knowledge on the analysis of the energy required is still present. The aim of this paper is to carry out energy analysis on Single Point Incremental Forming process. Accordingly, a wide experimental investigation was executed by taking into account different process parameters (i.e. tool depth step, punch velocity and product shape). The total energy consumption was monitored during all the experiments and properly weighted with respect to the deformation energy, required to execute the process. A sensitivity analysis was also carried out to highlight the conditions which allow to save energy r…

The burden of injury in Central, Eastern, and Western European sub-region: a systematic analysis from the Global Burden of Disease 2019 Study

2022

Abstract Background Injury remains a major concern to public health in the European region. Previous iterations of the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study showed wide variation in injury death and disability adjusted life year (DALY) rates across Europe, indicating injury inequality gaps between sub-regions and countries. The objectives of this study were to: 1) compare GBD 2019 estimates on injury mortality and DALYs across European sub-regions and countries by cause-of-injury category and sex; 2) examine changes in injury DALY rates over a 20 year-period by cause-of-injury category, sub-region and country; and 3) assess inequalities in injury mortality and DALY rates across the countries…

The care of the informal caregiver's burden by the Spanish public system of social welfare: a review.

2010

Abstract This work analyzes the public social services system developed in Spain to attend dependent persons and their informal caregivers, examining in a more detailed way the current capacity of the Spanish public In-Home Help Service (HHS) to meet the demands of dependent elderly persons and its impact on their informal caregiver's burden. We begin with a brief introduction of the services by the Spanish public social services system developed to attend dependency; next, the evolution of the Spanish public HHS is described in a thorough way to identify the pros and cons of this service regarding the informal caregivers’ burden of dependent elders. Finally, recommendations are proposed to…

The note censures the judgment in question due to the choice of placing proof of material causation on the creditor also in the context of the obligations of non-professional facere, thereby marking the full equation in terms of causality of contractual liability with aquilian liability.

The essay analyzes two recent judgments of the Court of Cassation regarding the burden of proof and the expiry of the limitation period for the claim in the field of actions aga…

BREVI NOTE SULL'ONERE DELLA PROVA NEL PROCESSO TRIBUTARIO

2019

Settore IUS/12 - Diritto TributarioThe burden of proof is a cornerstone in procedural rules which takes with it several principles aimed at ensuring the trial purpose to pursuit the truth. Procedural rules in tax law recognize taxpayer’s right to a due process but often in judicial decisions the burden of proof doesn’t seem distributed evenly and he is asked to provide a very difficult proof.

FROM UNBURDENING TO LIBERATED EMBODIED SIMULATION A HISTORY OF CONCEPTS

2020

What is imagination? How to think this «act» (action)? How to describe its phenomenology? And, above all, how to situate its very space in human behavior and mind? Can we outline a topic of imagination? I suggest that an ap- propriate blend between the tradition of philosophical anthropology, from Johann Gottfried Herder to Hans Blumenberg, and the new neuroscientific interpretation of «embodied simulation», could help us to refine our concept of imagination. I quote Herder just to refer to a noble forerunner of this genealogy, being the focus of my paper on a more controversial figure, namely Arnold Gehlen, author of an inspiring work of twentieth-century anthropology, Man. His Nature and …

ALEXITHYMIA, BURDEN AND EMOTIONAL STATE IN ALS’ CAREGIVERS

2016

Introduction: Living with a progressively disease such as Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) has a strong impact on the people affected and on their relatives, who have to tackle the demanding duties of caring for and assisting them (Tramonti et al., 2014). Although an extensive literature documents the levels of distress among caregivers of patients with progressive illness, less attention has been directed to determinants of caregiver mood and emotional regulation (Rabkin et al., 2009). In particular, there are not studies that assess the role of alexithymia in ALS. We evaluated the relationship between alexithymia and burden, and psychopatological symptoms in ALS’caregivers. Methods: 17…

Association of Anticholinergic Burden with Cognitive and Functional Status in a Cohort of Hospitalized Elderly: Comparison of the Anticholinergic Cog…

2013

Abstract Background Drugs with anticholinergic effects are associated with adverse events such as delirium and falls as well as cognitive decline and loss of independence. Objective The aim of the study was to evaluate the association between anticholinergic burden and both cognitive and functional status, according to the hypothesis that the cumulative anticholinergic burden, as measured by the Anticholinergic Cognitive Burden (ACB) Scale and Anticholinergic Risk Scale (ARS), increases the risk of cognitive decline and impairs activities of daily living. Methods This cross-sectional, prospective study (3-month telephone follow-up) was conducted in 66 Italian internal medicine and geriatric…

Increased frequencies of CD11b+CD33+CD14+HLA-DRlowmyeloid-derived suppressor cells are an early event in melanoma patients

2014

Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSC) are a heterogeneous cell population characterized by immunosuppressive activity. Elevated levels of MDSC in peripheral blood are found in inflammatory diseases as well as in malignant tumors where they are supposed to be major contributors to mechanisms of tumor-associated tolerance. We investigated the frequency and function of MDSC in peripheral blood of melanoma patients and observed an accumulation of CD11b(+) CD33(+) CD14(+) HLA-DR(low) MDSC in all stages of disease (I-IV), including early stage I patients. Disease progression and enhanced tumor burden did not result in a further increase in frequencies or change in phenotype of MDSC. By investig…
