Latvijas baptisma avoti: skolotāja Mihaēla Hamburgera (1824-1896) teoloģiskie priekšstati
2017
Local moment problem
2014
The work is devoted to the local moment problem, which consists in finding of non-decreasing functions on the real axis having given first 2n + 1, n ≥ 0, power moments on the whole axis and also 2m + 1 first power moments on a certain finite axis interval. Considering the local moment problem as a combination of the Hausdorff and Hamburger truncated moment problems we obtain the conditions of its solvability and describe the class of its solutions with minimal number of growth points if the problem is solvable. Trapping of hydrogen and helium at dislocations in tungsten: anab initiostudy
2017
Retention of plasma gas components such as hydrogen (H) isotopes and helium (He) is one of the limiting factors in selection of plasma facing materials for future thermonuclear fusion devices. Tungsten (W) is one of the promising candidates for such materials and was chosen for the divertor armor for International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) and the first wall material for the design of the demonstrational fusion power plant - DEMO. For the analytical estimation of accumulation of H/He components in tungsten, it is important to understand the relevant physical mechanisms of their trapping in the material and thoroughly parameterize them numerically. Experiments involving high …
Brief an Garlieb H. Merkel
1799
Ms. 930a, Nr. 8, Bl. 22r-23v Böttiger, Karl August. Brief an Garlieb H. Merkel, Weimar, d[en] 13.
Vortex diffusion and vortex-line hysteresis in radial quantum turbulence
2014
Abstract We study the influence of vortex diffusion on the evolution of inhomogeneous quantized vortex tangles. A simple hydrodynamical model to describe inhomogeneous counterflow superfluid turbulence is used. As an illustration, we obtain solutions for these effects in radial counterflow of helium II between two concentric cylinders at different temperatures. The vortex diffusion from the inner hotter cylinder to the outer colder cylinder increases the vortex length density everywhere as compared with the non-diffusive situation. The possibility of hysteresis in the vortex line density under cyclical variations of the heat flow is explored.

Some evolution equations arising in physics
1983
In this paper we consider a new series of evolution equations generalizing the Korteweg-deVries (KdV) and Burgers equations, and we report recent advances on these equations together with the physical phenomena where they arise. In particular we consider a generalized Burgers' equation and we sketch a method for solution in series by using the theory of Sobolevskij and Tanabe. Then we study the KdV equation with nonuniformity terms and we describe various physical interpretation of this equation. We consider various particular cases in which varying solitonic solutions exist. Also we sketch a unicity theorem. Finally modified Burgers-KdV equations are considered.
Singular behavior of a vortex layer in the zero thickness limit
2017
The aim of this paper is to study the Euler dynamics of a 2D periodic layer of non uniform vorticity. We consider the zero thickness limit and we compare the Euler solution with the vortex sheet evolution predicted by the Birkhoff-Rott equation. The well known process of singularity formation in shape of the vortex sheet correlates with the appearance of several complex singularities in the Euler solution with the vortex layer datum. These singularities approach the real axis and are responsible for the roll-up process in the layer motion.
Energy and temperature of superfluid turbulent vortex tangles
2007
We consider three aspects of turbulent vortex tangles in superfluids. First, we outline some contributions to the Vinen’s equation for the time evolution of the vortex line density, related to the presence of pinned vortices incorporating the effects of the walls. Afterwards, we analyze some aspects of the energy balance of the vortex tangle, related to frictional dissipation and to vortex formation and destruction. Finally, we explore the concept of an effective temperature for the vortex tangle, related to the average energy of the vortex loops and to the diffusion coefficient of vortex lines. The combination of these ideas suggests some formal similarities with other kinds of driven none…
Lenore, Ljudmila, Mcyri: intertestualità e simboliche
2008
The main target of this essay is to compare three poems, Leonore (1774) by G.A. Bürger, Ljudmila (1808) by V.A. Žukovskij and Mcyri (1839) by M.Ju. Lermontov. The aim of this research is to point out the peculiar poetic use of a series of symbolic elements which the reader meets in each of these three works (the wind, the storm, the war, the divinity, the horse, the panther, the moon). On one hand the achievements of the analysis show how some of these symbols have been kept almost unchanged in the three poems. On the other hand the results have been stressed how some symbolic elements have been worked out by the poets, recreating and enriching them with different ideological values.
