Mūsdienās ir nepieciešama efektīva lasīšanas izpratne un ātrums, lai atrastu atbilstošu un patiesu informāciju, piemēram, laikrakstos, transporta grafikos un citos rakstveida avotos. Diplomdarba mērķis bija izpētīt, kā video materiālu ar angļu subtitriem pielietošana var palielināt lasīšanas ātrumu un izpratni 11. klasē. Pētījuma metode bija gadījuma pētījums ar 12 skolēnu izlasi. Datu vākšanas gaitā tika veikti skolēnu lasīšanas ātruma un izpratnes mērījumi, ievāktas atgriezeniskās saites anketas un veiktas daļēji strukturētas intervijas ar divām skolotājām. In times when photojournalists experiment with various forms of visual production and journalistic photographs are disseminated not only in the press, but at the photography festivals and in museums, the question about the role of context in photography interpretation should be revisited. Thus, this study provides critical review of the contextual interpretation of journalistic images, focusing on the production, medium and page context. This article explores the issues at stakes in defining the narrative caption. As a starting point, it reviews usual definitions which combine a functional component (the caption provides a certain kind of information), a graphic component (that characterizes it as a space) and an enunciative component (the text which conveys the narrator’s voice) are combined. The article distingues between two objects: on the one hand the text box as a peripheral space in relation to the panel, on the other hand the caption as a textual element.
