Contingent Convertible Bonds for Sovereign Debt Risk Management

Abstract We consider convertible bonds that contractually stipulate payment standstill, contingent on a market indicator of a sovereign’s credit worthiness breaching a distress threshold. This financial innovation limits ex ante the likelihood of debt crises and imposes ex post risk sharing between creditors and the debtor. Drawing from literature on contingent contracts, neglected risks, and bank CoCo, we extend prevailing arguments in favor of sovereign CoCo (S-CoCo). Clinical Scenario: Unexpected Positive Nodes at Radical Cystectomy

Positive lymph nodes are found in 20–30 % of patients undergoing radical cystectomy for bladder cancer. Their presence is associated with poor survival in the majority. Super-extended lymph node dissection is recommended in the presence of positive lymph nodes to possibly improve oncologic outcome. In patients with unsuspicious lymph nodes, dissection should be performed at least up to the common iliac vessels. Even in the presence of lymph node metastases cystectomy is indicated to reduce local tumor complications. The type of urinary diversion should not be altered by lymph node positivity unless the diversion would otherwise negatively influence the extent of the procedure.

PurposeThe aim of this analysis was to evaluate the economic consequences of a new treatment approach in the treatment of schizophrenia in the Italian setting. Evaluation of early and late histamine release by three standard volume substitutes

Following meta-analysis [1], the use of colloidal solutions in intensive care medicine is under discussion. Although polygeline [2] and human albumin are known to cause histamine release, other substances eg hydroxyethyl starch were thought to be without effect. Histamine release depends on the clinical scenario, concomitant drugs, infusion speed, duration and amount of infusion. However, there is no information about their effect regarding time periods longer than immediate reactions. This study investigated the histamine releasing effects of three plasma substitutes administered and observed over a longer period of time, simulating many of the clinical scenarios.
Shared socioeconomic pathways for climate change research in Finland: co-developing extended SSP narratives for agriculture

AbstractShared socioeconomic pathways (SSPs), developed at global scale, comprise narrative descriptions and quantifications of future world developments that are intended for climate change scenario analysis. However, their extension to national and regional scales can be challenging. Here, we present SSP narratives co-developed with stakeholders for the agriculture and food sector in Finland. European countries have national sectoral polices to regulate and promote the provision of a wide range of forest ecosystems services (FES). However, potential incoherencies among these policies can negatively affect the efficient provision of FES. Wstęp: Obecność i postęp niepełnosprawności wymaga od osoby nią dotkniętej nowego sposobu funkcjonowania, który charakteryzuje się ograniczonymi możliwościami zmagania się z problemami dnia codziennego. Metaanalizy badań pokazują, że nabycie lub posiadanie niepełnosprawności fizycznej może w negatywny sposób kształtować samoocenę i ogólny dobrostan. Wyniki zawarte w dostępnych publikacjach wskazują na związki między samooceną, satysfakcją seksualną i dobrostanem wśród osób z niepełnosprawnością fizyczną.
