Heat-resistant unfired phosphate ceramics with carbon nanotubes for electromagnetic application
2014
Composite materials, containing low concentrations of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) of three different diameters and heat-resistant phosphate ceramic as a matrix were prepared by cold-pressing method. Their dielectric properties were studied at room temperature in a wide frequency range (20 Hz–1 MHz). It was found experimentally and proved theoretically via modeling of the composites as a random capacitor–resistor–diode network that electrical percolation concentration depends significantly on the diameter of the nanoinclusions. The main conclusion is that the best candidate providing both the lower percolation threshold and high absolute values of ac conductivity is thinner carbon nanotubes (in …
Antibody recognition of fluorinated MUC1 glycopeptide antigens.
2011
The syntheses of various fluorinated MUC1 glycopeptide antigens and their specific binding to serum antibodies from mice immunized with natural and fluorinated TF(6)-MUC1-TTox conjugate vaccines are presented.
Synthesis of a MUC1-glycopeptide-BSA conjugate vaccine bearing the 3'-deoxy-3'-fluoro-Thomsen-Friedenreich antigen.
2011
A novel MUC1-glycopeptide–BSA conjugate vaccine with a specifically fluorinated Thomsen–Friedenreich antigen side chain at Thr6 was prepared. Preliminary immunological experiments reveal specific binding of the tumor-associated glycopeptide antigen analog by anti-MUC1-mouse antibodies.

Un secteur d'habitat du haut Moyen Âge (VIIe-XIIe siècle) et son espace funéraire à Pfulgriesheim, Rue du Levant (Bas-Rhin)
2022
The preventive archaeological excavations conducted by Inrap under the direction of Édith Peytremann in 2010, in the commune of Pfulgriesheim in the Kochersberg region, led to the discovery of a settlement sector occupied from the middle of the 7th century to the end of the 11th century. The singularity of the site lies in the absence of any pole constructions and the subdivision of the sector, from the 10th century onwards, by building on cellars associated with excavated huts, pits, and silos. The dynamics tend to show a retraction of the latter from the beginning of the 8th century to the middle of the 10th century, while it is marked by the presence of a funerary complex arranged along …
Electrocatalysis of neurotransmitter catecholamines by 2,4,6-triphenylpyrylium ion immobilized inside zeolite Y supercages
1999
2,4,6-Triphenylpyrylium ions entrapped inside the supercages of Y zeolite exert a remarkable catalytic effect toward the electrochemical oxidation of dopamine and norepinephrine (neurotrasmitter catecholamines) in neutral aqueous media. Domenech Carbo, Antonio, Antonio.Domenech@uv.es
A plasma protein corona enhances the biocompatibility of Au@Fe3O4 Janus particles
2015
AbstractAu@Fe3O4 Janus particles (JPs) are heteroparticles with discrete domains defined by different materials. Their tunable composition and morphology confer multimodal and versatile capabilities for use as contrast agents and drug carriers in future medicine. Au@Fe3O4 JPs have colloidal properties and surface characteristics leading to interactions with proteins in biological fluids. The resulting protein adsorption layer (“protein corona”) critically affects their interaction with living matter. Although Au@Fe3O4 JPs displayed good biocompatibility in a standardized in vitro situation, an in-depth characterization of the protein corona is of prime importance to unravel underlying mecha…
An original experimental approach to study the alteration and/or contamination of archaeological ceramics originated by seawater burial
2014
This paper deals with the proposal of an original experimental methodological approach specifically designed for appraising any compositional alteration and/or contamination of archaeological ceramics after the protracted contact with seawater. A series of ceramic test-pieces (briquettes and cylinders) were purposely manufactured by mixing selected calcareous or non-calcareous clays with different varieties of sieved sand temper. The aim was to reasonably simulate the ceramic pastes most frequently found in the shipwrecks recovered in the coastal areas of western Mediterranean. The used raw materials were previously characterized in terms of mineralogical and chemical composition (XRPD, XRF…
40 anys de disseny de producte seriat. L’Escola d’Art i Superior de Ceràmica, Manises
2021
Engineering a morphogenetically active hydrogel for bioprinting of bioartificial tissue derived from human osteoblast-like SaOS-2 cells.
2014
Abstract Sodium alginate hydrogel, stabilized with gelatin, is a suitable, biologically inert matrix that can be used for encapsulating and 3D bioprinting of bone-related SaOS-2 cells. However, the cells, embedded in this matrix, remain in a non-proliferating state. Here we show that addition of an overlay onto the bioprinted alginate/gelatine/SaOS-2 cell scaffold, consisting of agarose and the calcium salt of polyphosphate [polyP·Ca 2+ -complex], resulted in a marked increase in cell proliferation . In the presence of 100 μ m polyP·Ca2+ -complex, the cells proliferate with a generation time of approximately 47–55 h. In addition, the hardness of the alginate/gelatin hydrogel substantially i…
