Cadmium-induced oxidative damage and protective action of fractioned red beet (Beta vulgaris) root juice in chickens

Article Cadmium (Cd) is one of the most dangerous environmental bioaccumulative pollutants that affects many organs in humans and animals. Present investigation was conducted to evaluate the protective effect of fractioned red beetroot juice on Cd - induced oxidative stress in chickens. The named red beetroot juice fraction (BJF) was received by juice ultrafiltration. Extraintestinal pathogenic Escherichia coli sequence type 131 (ST131), typically fluoroquinolone-resistant (FQ-R) and/or extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL)-producing, has emerged globally. Among clinical isolates, ST131, primarily its H30-R and H30-Rx subclones, accounts for most antimicrobial-resistant E. coli and is the dominant E. coli strain worldwide. International audience; A multi-criteria framework combining safety, hygiene and sensorial quality was developed to investigate the possibility of extending the shelf-life and/or removing lactate by applying High Hydrostatic Pressure (HHP) in a ready-to-cook (RTC) poultry product. mcr-1- like detection in commensal Escherichia coli and Salmonella spp. from food-producing animals at slaughter in Europe

International audience; We evaluate here the presence of the mcr-1-like and mcr-2 genes in Escherichia coli and Salmonella spp. isolated from healthy food-producing animals at slaughter between 2002 and 2014 in Europe. Isolates were retrieved from cattle, pig and chicken from 11 European countries of production. The susceptibility to colistin and antibiotics used in human medicine was determined by agar dilution. Inhibition of Fcγ Receptors in the Plasma of Subjects with Down's Syndrome

Abstract Subjects with Down's syndrome have several immunological abnormalities. We examined the sera of 29 subjects with Down's syndrome for the presence of Fcγ receptor blocking and for the presence of anti-ssDNA antibodies by EA rosette inhibition. Fifty-five percent of Down subjects had levels of inhibition above the upper limit of normality in comparison to 7% of normal controls. The finding that after polyethylene glycol precipitation of selected sera giving high levels of EA rosette inhibition there was a reduction or a disappearance of the EA rosette inhibition could indicate that the blocking factors detected behaved as immune complexes.
