Emergency toe-to-hand transfer for post-traumatic finger reconstruction: A multicenter case series

Abstract Background The aim of this paper was to evaluate the outcomes of a homogenous series of emergency with a toe-to-hand transfer reconstructions with a different timing: immediate (same surgical step with the debridement), primary (in the first 24 h), early (24–72 h after the debridement) or delayed (72 h-7 days). Materials and methods Between 2001 and 2011, 31 patients received an immediate reconstruction with a toe-to-hand transfer. BACKGROUND: Lingual flaps provide ideal mucosal coverage for intraoral defects but traditionally require two surgical stages. The authors present an axial mucosal propeller flap for single-stage intraoral reconstruction. The flap includes the mucosa of the lateral side of the tongue, islanded on the deep lingual vessels. The aims of this study were to identify the indications to perform a total pancreatectomy and to evaluate the outcome and quality of life of the patient who underwent this operation. A retrospective analysis of a prospective database, regarding all the patients who underwent total pancreatectomy from January 2006 to June 2009, was carried out. Perioperative and outcome data were analyzed in two different groups: ductal adenocarcinoma (group 1) and non-ductal adenocarcinoma (group 2). The aim of this paper is to report the management and the outcomes in 67 patients admitted for suspected ingestion of foreign body between December 2012 and December 2014. Robotic Versus Laparoscopic Gastric Resection for Primary Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors5 cm: A Size-Matched and Location-Matched Comparison.

This study compared robotic (RR) and laparoscopic resection (LR) for primary gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) of the stomach >5 cm. Twelve consecutive patients who underwent RR from 2012 to 2015 were matched for tumor size and location with 24 patients who underwent LR from 2000 to 2012. The median tumor size was 7.1 cm (range, 5.5 to 11.5). GISTs were resected by wedge resection (91.7%) or distal gastrectomy. The median RR operative time was longer than that of LR (162.5 vs. 130 min, respectively; P=0.004). Only 1 LR patient required conversion.
