A relevant part of the current debates about public acceptance of science and technology centers on the social acceptability of science and technology governance (including decision making, regulation and risk management). In this presentation we will argue, based on survey data, that the relationship between public and stakeholder acceptance of governance, on the one hand, and the level of public education, on the other, as well as current improvements in science and technology management is still unclear. This article presents some preliminary results and considerations about a R&D project about the use of ICTs and social media to do research on educational history. The progress achieved regarding the improvement of social and scientific communication, the significance of the learning process and the motivation shown by the academic community, make us point out the need to consolidate what we have been referring to as history of education 2.0.
