Although today there is a tendency to give it increasing recognition, some categories (cultural mediators, war and sign interpreters) still remain in a poorly recognized situation and often operate in precarious working conditions. The article is part of the volume Configurazioni e trasfigurazioni. Discorsi sul paesaggio mediato. The book asks to question the relationship between the landscape and its worlds (literary, cinematographic, virtual). The fundamental question of the article is how one can grasp the sense of the landscape of the Australian film The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert (1994). Therefore, analyzing the famous film, the essay wants to correlate the sense of the landscape and the idea of nation. Godard's Histoire(s) du cinéma is a film realized using found footages between 1989 and 1998. It celebrates the "end" of the XXI century and of the artistic form which better represented it: cinema. This essay aims to investigate the idea of "apocalypse" as it emerges from the film, in light of Godard's interpretation of such important historical moment.
