In this chapter, Management as Intervention, Richard Ennals presents ideas on an alternative perspective on management. The chapter seeks to apply ideas of sustainability, which is seen as mutual competence building development, to business management and business education. First measurement of the polarization observable E and helicity-dependent cross sections in single π 0 photoproduction from quasi-free nucleons

The double-polarization observable $E$ and the helicity-dependent cross sections $\sigma_{1/2}$ and $\sigma_{3/2}$ have been measured for the first time for single $\pi^{0}$ photoproduction from protons and neutrons bound in the deuteron at the electron accelerator facility MAMI in Mainz, Germany. The experiment used a circularly polarized photon beam and a longitudinally polarized deuterated butanol target. The reaction products, recoil nucleons and decay photons from the $\pi^0$ meson were detected with the Crystal Ball and TAPS electromagnetic calorimeters. Ring Dupin cyclides are non-spherical algebraic surfaces of degree four that can be defined as the image by inversion of a ring torus. They are interesting in geometric modeling because: (1) they have several families of circles embedded on them: parallel, meridian, and Yvon-Villarceau circles, and (2) they are characterized by one parametric equation and two equivalent implicit ones, allowing for better flexibility and easiness of use by adopting one representation or the other, according to the best suitability for a particular application. Exponential stability analysis of Markovian jump nonlinear systems with mixed time delays and partially known transition probabilities

In this paper, the problem of exponential stability is studied for a class of Markovian jump neutral nonlinear systems with mixed neutral and discrete time delays. By Lyapunov-Krasovskii function approach, a novel mean-square exponential stability criterion is derived for the situation that the system's transition rates are partially or completely accessible. Finally, some numerical examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods.
Quality Circles and Organisation Culture

This article is an attempt to increase knowledge of the best conditions for application of a programme of quality circles. It suggests that before applying such a programme, the top management team must clarify: the purpose of application, the ways to use the circles, and analyse the organisational characteristics, especially the organisation culture. The search for such coherency will contribute to the success of the programme.

We prove an early announcement by Knaster on a decomposition of the plane. Then we establish an announcement by Anderson saying that the plane annulus admits a continlous decomposition into pseudo-arcs such that the quotient space is a simple closed curve. This provides a new plane curve, "a selectible circle of pseudo-aics", and answers some questions of Lewis.
Automatic Biological Cell Counting Using a Modified Gradient Hough Transform

AbstractWe present a computational method for pseudo-circular object detection and quantitative characterization in digital images, using the gradient accumulation matrix as a basic tool. This Gradient Accumulation Transform (GAT) was first introduced in 1992 by Kierkegaard and recently used by Kaytanli & Valentine. In the present article, we modify the approach by using the phase coding studied by Cicconet, and by adding a “local contributor list” (LCL) as well as a “used contributor matrix” (UCM), which allow for accurate peak detection and exploitation. Mērķa izpildei tiek izvirzīti uzdevumi analizēt un apkopot pieejamo teoriju par zīmolu, tā būtību, vēsturi, pozicionēšanu, kā arī zīmola identitāti un zīmolu maiņu; apkopot informāciju par „Circle K” zīmolu un tā ieviešanu un pārmaiņas procesu uzņēmumā, kā arī noskaidrot patērētāju redzespunktu par to; izdarīt secinājumus un izstrādāt priekšlikumus „Circle K” zīmola veiksmīgākai nomaiņai.
