Sicilia 2000/2006 - Asse III - Mis. 3.05) e coordinate dalle Università di Palermo e di Catania.

This paper investigates how the emotion "joy" and its correlation with cognitive and motivational factors may influence learning a foreign language. After an overview of current research on emotions, with special reference to the neurobiological basis of brain activity, the paper presents an empirical study of the oral competence of adult Italian learners of German as a third language in a classroom setting at the Goethe-Institut Palermo. The case example shows how differently joy can appear: in a spoken utterance, in body movements or facial expressions, and how all kinds of its manifestations contribute to classroom communication at various levels. Multimodale Analyse von Interaktion im fremdsprachlichen Klassenzimmer

The article offers a contribution to the interaction research in the foreign language teaching and learning. It starts with an overview of various research approaches to the foreign language teaching and learning, from the 60s to the present days. A multimodal analysis of an excerpt of videorecorded classroom interaction is then provided. The analysis is focused on several aspects of classroom participation and teaching sequences. Some implications of the present research for teachers' training are finally provided.
Social Inclusion and Exclusion in the Life Stories of Deported Asylum Seekers from Finland to Iraqi Kurdistan

This study explores how social inclusion and exclusion manifest as a dynamic continuum in the everyday lived realities of irregular migrants. Based on narratives of Iraqi Kurdish asylum seekers, who were eventually deported from Finland, the analysis depicts the ways in which societal structures, personal negotiations as well as relationships and social networks interplay in lives characterized by multiple locations, transitions and positions. Establishing and maintaining social contacts, belonging to various networks and being able to decide and act are primary factors that help us understand how the narrators relate to the continuum. 16 pages; Issu d'une réflexion pédagogique, nourrie d'une théorisation de la communication interpersonnelle, cet article attribue le mythe des difficultés des Français à apprendre des langues étrangères à une angoisse liée à leur représentation culturelle de la langue française. L'article montre comment, grâce à une prise en compte des identités et à une focalisation sur la compétence de communication (Hymes), des étudiants français peuvent être amenés à communiquer de manière spontanée et à assumer leur niveau, forcément imparfait, dans une langue étrangère.

Artykuł jest próbą przedstawienia wędkarstwa jako praktyki kulturowej o społecznie – w zasadzie głównie klasowo – różnicującym potencjale. Szczególnie pod tym względem interesujący i znaczący jest przypadek tak zwanej sztucznej muchy – metody, która stanowi wysoce skodyfikowany kulturowo obszar społecznie dystynktywnych znaczeń i działań. Artykuł w głównej mierze odnosi się do faktów poświadczonych dla XIX wieku, kiedy to tworzyły się podstawowe reguły muszkarstwa, które bądź to w postaci zinstytucjonalizowanej, bądź poprzez nieformalne ramy kształtowały prawomocne praktyki sportowego łowienia ryb szlachetnych.
