Towards multi-concern software development with Everything-as-Code

As software is becoming a central element in our lives, more and more stakeholders have concerns. Unlike today, when developers stop their coding activities to satisfy these stakeholder concerns, we propose dealing with them as part of the coding workflow, the central element of programmers’ daily duties. The object of the study is to demonstrate that an enterprise can be efficient also when it concerns the protection of the environment and that this is the key in order to obtain a sustainable development. In order to obtain this, a company is held to reduce the impact of the products during the entire life cycle of the product (from production to disposal) and to use adequate strategies that aim to reduce the impacts on the environment. The analysis will regard the field of packaging, considering a Sicilian company, that produces packaging made by Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) and in particular boxes for fish.

In this qualitative study, we investigate how customers perceive QR codes enhancing their customer experience (CX) in the brick-and-mortar (B&M) store environment. Introducing QR codes to B&M stores is a part of the larger phenomenon of retailers creating omnichannel CXs by utilizing digital and cyber-physical elements in B&M stores. To collect data from real customers’ CXs, we displayed QR codes in a Finnish fashion brand’s B&M store and interviewed customers who had authentically visited the store. Customers’ QR Code Usage Barriers in a Brick-and-Mortar Store : A Qualitative Study

The purpose of this study is to explore the factors that hinder customers from utilizing QR codes when they visit brick-and-mortar (B&M) stores. The research was conducted at a Finnish fashion retailer, where three types of QR codes were displayed for customers to use. In order to identify the barriers that customers face, two different sets of data were collected and analyzed: open-ended survey data (n = 101) and interview data (n = 16). Language is a powerful tool. Linguistic creativity provides the means to new ways of knowing, thinking, and being, and allows a new set of dialogues to emerge. This paper illuminates how Guillermo Gómez-Peña, a Chicano performance artist, writer, activist and educator uses language to do just this. Purpose This brief note sheds light on the links between Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) codes and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. Design/methodology/approach Three alternative methods based on keyword overlap to establish links between SDGs and JEL codes are presented. Findings These simple linkages illustrate that the themes of SDGs have corresponding closely related JEL classification codes. Research limitations/implications The mappings presented in this note are based on simple keyword overlap and are therefore necessarily imperfect and incomplete. Heart failure and chronic kidney disease in a registry of internal medicine wards

Background: The aim of the present study was to evaluate the association between heart failure (HF) and chronic kidney disease (CKD) in tertiary care centers using the clinical records of patients enrolled in internal medicine departments.Patients and methods: We used the clinical records of 1380 elderly patients to identify patients with a history of HF and CKD using admission ICD codes and glomerular filtration rate (GFR) formulas. Magnitude and strength of such associations were investigated by univariable and multivariable analysis.Results: Of the 1380 patients enrolled, 27.9% had HF (age 80 ± 7, BMI 27 ± 6 kg/m2) and 17.4% CKD (age 81 ± 7, BMI 26.8 ± 6 kg/m2).
