Introdução: O comprometimento da cognição e memória (CM) é comum em indivíduos com Doença Renal Crônica (DRC) em hemodiálise, o que prejudica a aderência ao tratamento. Objetivo: Avaliar a capacidade cognitiva de indivíduos renais crônicos em hemodiálise por meio do Miniexame do Estado Mental (MEEM) e a relação com as características sociodemográficas e clínicas desses indivíduos. Combining musical cognition and ethnomusicological approaches, this article seeks to verify if the capacity of recognizing and actually doing the appropriate beat of musical rhythms after listening to musical excerpts is influenced by the movements of the body. We would like to show to what extent variables like "musical competence" ("musicians" and "non-musicians") and "cultural origin" ("Brazilians" and "French") do influence such capacity. We try to answer these questions by applying an experimental protocol designed for that end. Introduction: Bipolar disorder (BD) is associated with significant neurocognitive and functional impairment, which may progress across stages. The ‘latent stage' of BD remains understudied. This cross-sectional study assessed staging, neurocognition and social functioning among BD patients and their healthy siblings.Methods: Four groups were included: euthymic type I BD patients in the early (n = 25) and late (n = 23) stages, their healthy siblings (latent stage; n = 23) and healthy controls (n = 21).
