Ciprofloxacin Polymers Derived from Diallyltin and Divinyltin Dihalides

The initial synthesis of condensation polymers from newly available divinyltin dichloride and diallyltin dichloride and ciprofloxacin is accomplished employing a modified interfacial polycondensation process. The polymeric (DP are about 2,000) products are rapidly (less than 15 seconds) formed in good yield. Infrared spectroscopy shows the formation of Sn-O and Sn-N bonds as predicted from the proposed structure. F-MALDI MS also shows ion fragments containing organotin in the predicted isotopic abundances as well as ion fragments containing both organotin and ciprofloxacin. Colon cancer comprises a small population of cancer initiating stem cells (CIC) that is responsible for tumor maintenance and resistance to anti-cancer therapies, possibly allowing for tumor recapitulation once treatment stops. Combinations of immune-based therapies with chemotherapy and other anti-tumor agents may be of significant clinical benefit in the treatment of colon cancer. It is well established that oxidative stress is common in inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs). Accordingly, antioxidants are recommended for treatment. The aim of this study is to compare the effects of antioxidants contained in the various types of tea on symptoms and evolution of IBD and colorectal cancer (CRC). Analysis of the literature revealed that the theaflavin-3, 30-digallate (TFDG) contained in black tea, and epigallocatechin-3-O-gallate (EGCG) contained in green tea have protective effects against oxidative stress. Further advances in understanding the mechanism of action of resveratrol and its application require new analogs to identify the structural determinants for the cell proliferation inhibition potency. Therefore, we synthesized new trans-resveratrol derivatives by using the Wittig and Heck methods, thus modifying the hydroxylation and methoxylation patterns of the parent molecule. Moreover, we also synthesized new ferrocenylstilbene analogs by using an original protective group in the Wittig procedure.
