Vascular complications following bladder drained, simultaneous pancreas-kidney transplantation: the University of Miami experience

Vascular complications remain a significant nonimmunologic source of pancreas allograft loss. From February 1993 through January 1998, we performed 98 simultaneous pancreas-kidney transplantations (SPK) using pancreatic exocrine bladder drainage in patients with type 1 insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus and end-stage renal disease. They originally received quadruple immunosuppression, and since May 1997 triple immunosuppression protocol (tacrolimus, mycophenolate mofetil, and steroids). Risk factors and interventional strategies for BK polyomavirus infection after renal transplantation.

BK virus (BKV)-induced viraemia after renal transplantation can be associated with severe impairment of graft function. Integration of an LP Solver into Interval Constraint Propagation

This paper describes the integration of an LP solver into iSAT, a Satisfiability Modulo Theories solver that can solve Boolean combinations of linear and nonlinear constraints. iSAT is a tight integration of the well-known DPLL algorithm and interval constraint propagation allowing it to reason about linear and nonlinear constraints. As interval arithmetic is known to be less efficient on solving linear programs, we will demonstrate how the integration of an LP solver can improve the overall solving performance of iSAT.

Genetic variability and evolutionary analysis of parietaria mottle virus: role of selection and genetic exchange

[EN] The genetic variability and evolution of parietaria mottle virus (PMoV) of the genus Ilarvirus was studied by analyzing nucleotide sequences of 2b and CP genes from isolates collected in different countries. Phylogenetic analysis showed that PMoV isolates clustered in different clades: one (clade I) composed of only Italian isolates and three clades (clades II-IV) including the Spanish isolates. Molecular tunneling and pumping effects in low temperature MBCO recombination

Recombination of carbonmonoxide after photodissociation has been studied by Mossbauer spectroscopy at 4.2K and in the low temperature region, where tunneling effects play an important role in rebinding. We interpret the kinetic results in terms of a radiationless nonadiabatic multiphonon transition, which leads to a uniform description for all temperatures. Prolonged illumination at low temperature results in pumping into long-living states.
