About the Stability of Active Queue Management Mechanism

In this paper, we discuss the influence of multiple bottlenecks on the stability of Active Queue Management (AQM) controllers, usually configured on a single bottleneck basis. To see this, we consider a network scenario where RED is configured at each router according to previously developed control theoretic techniques. These configuration rules assure stability in a single bottleneck scenario. Yet, we show that instability may arise when two links become congested. We justify this result through a multiple bottleneck model.

Investigation of data encryption impact on broadcasting visible light communications

Este trabajo investiga el impacto de la encriptación y desencriptación de datos en un sistema de comunicaciones de luz visible (VLC) de difusión en interiores incrustado en la capa física. Se ha implementado el cifrado RSA para proporcionar una transmisión de datos segura en la capa física. El artículo muestra el rendimiento de la tasa de error de bits (BER) para los sistemas VLC seguros y no seguros (8 y 12 bits) para velocidades de datos de 2 y 12 Mbps. Para una BER de 10e-4 mostramos que hay penalizaciones de potencia de 2-4 dB con las VLC seguras. Dans cet article nous proposons une nouvelle mesure, la Probabilité de Propagation Sémantique (SPP), qui caractérise la capacité de l'utilisateur à propager un concept sémantique à d'autres utilisateurs, d'une manière rapide et ciblée. La sémantique des messages est analysée selon une ontologie donnée. Nous utilisons cette mesure pour obtenir la Centralité Sémantique Temporelle (TSC) d'un utilisateur dans une communauté. Nous proposons et évaluons une expérimentation de cette mesure, en utilisant une ontologie et des données réelles issues du Web.

Abstract Background The interconversion of two important energy metabolites, 3-hydroxybutyrate and acetoacetate (the major ketone bodies), is catalyzed by D-3-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase (BDH1: EC 1.1.1.30), a NAD+-dependent enzyme. The eukaryotic enzyme is bound to the mitochondrial inner membrane and harbors a unique lecithin-dependent activity. Here, we report an advanced purification method of the mammalian BDH applied to the liver enzyme from jerboa (Jaculus orientalis), a hibernating rodent adapted to extreme diet and environmental conditions.
