Coherently pumped lasers (CPL) operating in the far-infrared spectral region shown a wealth of instabilities1, including a behavior remarkably similar2,3 with the predictions of the paradigmatic Lorenz-Haken model of a single-mode homogeneously broadened laser4,5. The qualitative agreement; between theory and experiments2,3 was rather surprising, for the model4,5 refers to a two-level system whereas the CPL operate on a three-level scheme, where the pumping and lasing transitions share a common upper level. The aim of the present study was to investigate different effects on rooting ability of potato expiants in vitro, caused by limited gas exchange and IBA and BAP treatment.
Influence of complexation between amylose and a flavored model sponge cake on the degree of aroma compound release

International audience; Flavoring is used in the food industry to reinforce the aroma profile of baked cereal goods. During the processing of such products, interactions between starch and aroma compounds can occur, and this may have an impact on aroma release and perception. In the present study, 20 aroma compounds were tested to establish whether they formed complexes with amylose. The structure of the complexes was determined by wide-angle X-ray scattering (WAXS). A cocomplexation study proved that several complexing compounds could be present in the same crystalline aggregate. In this work, we analyze the Born, Bogoliubov, Green, Kirkwood, and Yvon (BBGKY) hierarchy of equations for describing the full time evolution of a many-body fermionic system in terms of its reduced density matrices (at all orders). We provide an exhaustive study of the challenges and open problems linked to the truncation of such a hierarchy of equations to make them practically applicable. We restrict our analysis to the coupled evolution of the one- and two-body reduced density matrices, where higher-order correlation effects are embodied into the approximation used to close the equations. ABSTRACTThe betaherpesvirus human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) encodes several molecules that block antigen presentation by the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) proteins. Humans also possess one other family of antigen-presenting molecules, the CD1 family; however, the effect of HCMV on CD1 expression is unknown. The majority of CD1 molecules are classified on the basis of homology as group 1 CD1 and are present almost exclusively on professional antigen-presenting cells such as dendritic cells, which are a major target for HCMV infection and latency.
