The topology of vitronectin: A complementary feature for neuroblastoma risk classification based on computer‐aided detection
2019
Tumors are complex networks of constantly interacting elements: tumor cells, stromal cells, immune and stem cells, blood/lympathic vessels, nerve fibers and extracellular matrix components. These elements can influence their microenvironment through mechanical and physical signals to promote tumor cell growth. To get a better understanding of tumor biology, cooperation between multidisciplinary fields is needed. Diverse mathematic computations and algorithms have been designed to find prognostic targets and enhance diagnostic assessment. In this work, we use computational digital tools to study the topology of vitronectin, a glycoprotein of the extracellular matrix. Vitronectin is linked to…
Recomendaciones de uso de los anticoagulantes orales directos en el período perioperatorio
2012
Because of the characteristics of direct oral anticoagulants (DOA), the lack of an antidote to completely reverse their anticoagulant effects, the absence of standardization in monitoring of their effects, and limited experience of their use, specific recommendations for their management in the perioperative period or in emergencies are required. In elective surgery, in patients with normal renal function and low hemorrhagic/ thrombotic risk, DOA should be withdrawn 2 days before the intervention; when the hemorrhagic/ thrombotic risk is higher, bridge therapy with a low molecular weight hepatin beginning 5 days before the intervention is proposed as an alternative. In emergency surgery, sy…
New method for the determination of the absolute stereochemistry in antitumoral annonaceous acetogenins
1998
Abstract The absolute configurations at the carbinol centers in several acetogenins were determined through p-bromophenylurethane derivatives and subsequent Mosher ester methodology. This method has been applied on α,α′-dihydroxylated adjacent bis-THF acetogenins with a threo/cis/threo/cis/erythro relative configuration membrarollin (1), a new acetogenin isolated from Rollinia membranacea seeds, rollimembrin (2), membranacin (3) and rolliniastatin-1 (4), and a threo/trans/threo/translerythro relative configuration motrilin (5), squamocin (6), and desacetyluvaricin (7). 1 was found to be the most potent inhibitor of the mammalian mitochondrial complex I.
Rotation-Invariant Texture Retrieval via Signature Alignment Based on Steerable Sub-Gaussian Modeling
2008
This paper addresses the construction of a novel efficient rotation-invariant texture retrieval method that is based on the alignment in angle of signatures obtained via a steerable sub-Gaussian model. In our proposed scheme, we first construct a steerable multivariate sub-Gaussian model, where the fractional lower-order moments of a given image are associated with those of its rotated versions. The feature extraction step consists of estimating the so-called covariations between the orientation subbands of the corresponding steerable pyramid at the same or at adjacent decomposition levels and building an appropriate signature that can be rotated directly without the need of rotating the im…
Formation of an interlocked double-chain from an organic-inorganic [2]rotaxane.
2019
Here we show that a structure containing a polymeric interlocking daisy chain is obtained from the reaction of an inorganic–organic [2]rotaxane [HB{CrIII7NiII(μ-F)8(O2CtBu)16}], where B is an organic thread terminated with a bi-pyridyl unit, with an oxo-centered metal carboxylate triangle [FeIII2CoII(μ3-O)(O2CtBu)6(HO2CtBu)3].
Algorithmic Complexity Vulnerability Analysis of a Stateful Firewall
2016
Algorithmic complexity vulnerabilities are an opportunity for an ad-versary to conduct a sophisticated kind of attack i.e. on network infrastructure services. Such attacks take advantage of worst case time or space complexity of algorithms implemented on devices in their software. In this paper we address potential risks introduced by such algorithmic behavior in computer networks in particular on a stateful firewall. First we introduce the idea and theoretical background for the attack. We then describe in full detail a successfully con-ducted attack which takes advantage of the worst case computational complexi-ty of O(n2) of a hash table data structure used to store active sessions. The …
Evidence de l'adaptation des communautés microbiennes sédimentaires de rivière à la minéralisation du diuron: influence du ruissellement et de l'éros…
2010
International audience; Purpose Surface runoff and erosion are major drivers of pesticide transport from soils to rivers draining vineyard watersheds. A recent study showed that applications of diuron on vineyards and diuron dispersal could lead to microbial adaptation to diuron biodegradation from treated soils to the receiving hydrosystem. Given the limited knowledge on microbial adaptation to pesticide degradation in aquatic environments, we conducted a microcosm study designed to assess the impact of runoff and erosion processes on the adaptation of riverine-sediment microbial communities to diuron mineralization. Materials and methods The experimental laboratory set-up consisted in aqu…
Synthesis, Structural characterization and Exafs investigations of new ruthenium(III) complexes.
2008
Two new complexs of Ru(III) with glucosaminic acid and 1-Methyluracil, [RuCl2(Glun-N,O)2]H (I), (Glun-= glucosaminate); [RuCl4(1-MeU-N3)(DMSO)]H2.H2O (II), (1-MeU-= 1-Methyluracilate) were prepared from the same Ru(III) precursors, RuCl3•3H2O and [(DMSO)2H][trans-RuCl4(DMSO)2]. The characterization of the complexes have been carried out by elemental analysis, FT-IR, ES-MS, NMR and EXAFS.

Partitionability, coverability and colorability in graphs
2014
Our research are about graph coloring with distance constraints (packing coloring) or neighborhood constraints (Grundy coloring). Let S={si| i in N*} be a non decreasing sequence of integers. An S-packing coloring is a proper coloring such that every set of color i is an si-packing (a set of vertices at pairwise distance greater than si). A graph G is (s1,... ,sk)-colorable if there exists a packing coloring of G with colors 1,... ,k. A Grundy coloring is a proper vertex coloring such that for every vertex of color i, u is adjacent to a vertex of color j, for each ji. These results allow us to determine S-packing coloring of these lattices for several sequences of integers. We examine a cla…
