Studies of structural composition distribution heterogeneity in ethylene/1-hexene copolymers using thermal fractionation technique (SSA): Effect of c…

2005

Investigations into the compositional heterogeneity of ethylene/1-hexene copolymers obtained with various zirconocene/MAO catalysts, either homogeneous or supported on inorganic carriers such as a complex of magnesium chloride with tetrahydrofuran or methyl alcohol, were conducted. The dependence between metallocene structure, as well as catalyst immobilization, and the compositional heterogeneity of the related products was investigated. It was found that the heterogeneity of copolymers is determined by the metallocene catalyst structure. The amount of peaks on the DSC thermograms of copolymers and their division increase with the increase of bulkiness of the ligand in the catalytic system…

Simulated eutrophication and browning alters zooplankton nutritional quality and determines juvenile fish growth and survival

2018

Source at https://doi.org/10.1002/ece3.3832. The first few months of life is the most vulnerable period for fish and their optimal hatching time with zooplankton prey is favored by natural selection. Traditionally, however, prey abundance (i.e., zooplankton density) has been considered important, whereas prey nutritional composition has been largely neglected in natural settings. High‐quality zooplankton, rich in both essential amino acids (EAAs) and fatty acids (FAs), are required as starting prey to initiate development and fast juvenile growth. Prey quality is dependent on environmental conditions, and, for example, eutrophication and browning are two major factors defining primary produ…

Revista iberoamericana de educación

2012

2019

The relationship between abstract art and architecture is briefly commented as against the research work of Lorenzo Degli Esposti's book Operazioni in arte ed in architettura. especially the conceptual work of Sol LeWitt, and Smythson is focused commenting upon its use in architectural design and namely in compositional methods.

Information Transfer in Linear Multivariate Processes Assessed through Penalized Regression Techniques: Validation and Application to Physiological N…

2020

The framework of information dynamics allows the dissection of the information processed in a network of multiple interacting dynamical systems into meaningful elements of computation that quantify the information generated in a target system, stored in it, transferred to it from one or more source systems, and modified in a synergistic or redundant way. The concepts of information transfer and modification have been recently formulated in the context of linear parametric modeling of vector stochastic processes, linking them to the notion of Granger causality and providing efficient tools for their computation based on the state&ndash

Effect of Pulp Pigmentation Intensity on Consumer Acceptance of New Blood Mandarins: A Cross-Cultural Study in Spain and Italy

2022

One of the current objectives of different citrus breeding programmes is obtaining new pigmented mandarins. This study investigates to what extent consumer preferences, expectations and purchase intention are affected by the appearance of new mandarins, specifically pulp pigmentation intensity. Four hundred consumers from both Italy and Spain (800 in all) participated in the study. In each country, half were informed about the healthy properties of the anthocyanins responsible for red pulp colouration, while the other half were not. Italians more readily accepted new mandarin varieties than Spaniards, which was linked to them being more familiar with blood oranges. In Italy, both slight- an…

A TOPOLOGICAL STUDY OF PLANAR VECTOR FIELD SINGULARITIES A tribute to Ivar Bendixson

2019

In this paper one extends results of Bendixson [B] and Dumortier [D] about the germs of vector fields with an isolated singularity at the origin of IR 2 , not accumulated by periodic orbits. As new tool, one introduces minimal curves, which are curves surrounding the origin, with a minimal number of contact points with the vector field. Moreover, the arguments are essentially topological, with no use of a desingularization theory, as it is the case in [D]. 2000 Mathematics Subject Classification : 34C05, 34A26.

Effect of Mycoplasma agalactiae mastitis on milk production and composition in Valle dell Belice dairy sheep

2019

Contagious agalactia (CA), a disease caused by Mycoplasma agalactiae and other pathogenic mycoplasmas, is a well-known multietiological syndrome affecting dairy breeds of sheep and goats in the Mediterranean basin. The aim of this work was to study the effect on milk production and composition of mastitis caused by M. agalactiae in Valle del Belice dairy sheep. All ewes were manually milked twice daily and the milk from both daily milking was analysed for milk composition and somatic cell counts. Moreover the morning milk samples were collected aseptically from each animal for bacteriological analyses. A mixed linear model was utilised to consider milk production and composition between ani…

Interactive evolutionary multiobjective optimization with modular physical user interface

2022

© 2022 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). Incorporating the preferences of a domain expert, a decision-maker (DM), in solving multiobjective optimization problems increased in popularity in recent years. The DM can choose to use different types of preferences depending on his/her comfort, requirements, or the problem being solved. Most papers, where preference-based and interactive algorithms have been proposed, do not pay attention to the user interfaces and input devices. If they do, they use character or graphics-based preference input methods. We propose the option of using a physical or tactile input device that gives the DM a better sense of control over providing his/her preferen…
