El retablo de San Estanislao de Kostka en San Luis de los franceses de Sevilla

El templo de San Luis de los franceses de Sevilla, construido a lo largo de las primeras décadas del siglo XVIII, dispone de un complejo programa visual. El retablo de San Estanislao de Kostka ocupa una importante capilla, en paralelo a la de San Francisco de Borja. Como todo retablo, cumple dos funciones: la contemplativa, o conductora de la oración a través de su imagen conceptual, y la formativa por medio del discurso visual desplegado en las calles laterales y el ático. Se afronta el análisis de ambas facetas mediante una aproximación a sus fuentes literarias y emblemáticas.

Single-cell analysis of population context advances RNAi screening at multiple levels

Isogenic cells in culture show strong variability, which arises from dynamic adaptations to the microenvironment of individual cells. Here we study the influence of the cell population context, which determines a single cell's microenvironment, in image‐based RNAi screens. We developed a comprehensive computational approach that employs Bayesian and multivariate methods at the single‐cell level. We applied these methods to 45 RNA interference screens of various sizes, including 7 druggable genome and 2 genome‐wide screens, analysing 17 different mammalian virus infections and four related cell physiological processes. This article reports on an action research project on improving a functional programming course by moving towards a practical and flexible study environment—flipped and blended classroom. Teaching the topic of functional programming was found to be troublesome using a traditional lectured course format. Dynamic Usage-based Principles in the Development of L2 Finnish Evaluative Constructions

Abstract This study investigates the formal verbalizations of evaluation used by four beginning L2 learners of Finnish from a dynamic usage-based perspective. Longitudinal data collected weekly were used to investigate what kind of constructions learners use to express evaluation and how these interact and develop over time. The results show that when a new construction is acquired in the L2, another related construction might regress. The results also point to increased variability in the construction during a phase of rapid development and reduced variability in the phases of regression or slower progress. AbstractUsing multimodal conversation analysis, this article analyses language learning as an in situ process during a teacher-assigned, experientially based pedagogical activity. The activity involved a three-part pedagogical structure, where learners first prepared for and then participated in real-life service encounters, and later reflected on their experiences back in the classroom. In research on learner language complexity, accuracy and fluency (CAF), syntactic complexity is often studied with quantitative measures based on words, clauses, sentences, and T-units. The findings have been mixed, but segmenting learner language into these units of measure has seldom been problematised, even if the need for accurate coding is well known.
