Aqueous selective photocatalytic oxidation of salicyl alcohol by TiO2 catalysts: Influence of some physico-chemical features

Abstract Partial photocatalytic oxidation of salicyl alcohol (2-hydroxybenzyl alcohol) to salicylaldehyde in water was investigated under environmental friendly conditions in the presence of home-prepared and commercial TiO2 (Merck and Aeroxide P25) samples under UVA irradiation. The photocatalysts were characterized by using BET, XRD, SEM and/or TEM techniques. Arachidonic acid (AA) is a major constituent of membrane phospholipids in brain tissue. Normally, the free fatty acid is present only in small amounts, but it accumulates under adverse conditions such as ischemia (Kinouchi et al. 1990). The release of free fatty acids involves activation of phospholipases and breakdown of membrane phospholipids. A A in particular is considered to mediate pathological processes. Electrical tree growth in EVA-layered silicate nanocomposites

This work deals with the growth of electrical treeing in different EVA-layered silicate nanostructured compounds. The experimental activity evidenced that the intercalated nanocomposites have longer lifetimes than pure EVA under the same constant AC stress conditions. A monitoring of the tree growth morphology allowed to evidence very interesting features of the intercalated nano-compounds showing a barrier effect to the treeing path. A preliminary investigation on the possible arrangement of the filler particles inside the matrix was also carried out.

Summary Study aim. The purpose of the current study is to determine the impact of single bouts of physical exercise of different duration and intensity on young adults’ executive functions. Material and methods. The study employed 81 participants (37 females, 44 males) ranging between 19 and 39 years (mean age: 24.6 ± 4.08 years; mean height: 168 ± 9.67 cm; mean weight: 67.2 ± 13.0 kg). Ce cours a pour principal sujet la discrétisation de certaines conditions limites sur le bord d'un domaine à l'aide de la méthode des éléments finis. Nous étudions en particulier des problèmes elliptiques avec conditions de Dirichlet non-homogènes, puis avec conditions de Signorini. Les conditions de Signorini sont des conditions de contact unilatéral entre un solide et un support rigide. Différentes méthodes sont passées en revue, et nous détaillons l'analyse pour les méthodes classiques et celle de Nitsche.
Rzadkie i ginące zbiorowiska roślin wodnych z klasy Potametea Słowińskiego Parku Narodowego

Słowiński Park Narodowy, o powierzchni 32 744 ha, został utworzony w 1967 roku, a do sieci Światowych Rezerwatów Biosfery włączony w 1977 roku. Ponad połowę obszaru parku zajmują ekosystemy wodne, w tym pobrzeże Bałtyku, jeziora Łebsko, Gardno, Dołgie Wielkie i Dołgie Małe oraz w mniejszym stopniu rzeki: Łeba, Łupawa i Pustynka. W trakcie badań prowadzonych w latach 2013–2014 stwierdzono stanowiska czterech rzadkich i ginących zbiorowisk roślin wodnych z klasy Potametea, nienotowanych dotąd na obszarze Słowińskiego PN.
