Hace tiempo que mantengo que ha de ser el conocimiento erotético y no el conocimiento proposicional aquél en el que hemos de fijar nuestra atención si queremos saber con precisión qué cree un sujeto. Recientemente, Jonathan Shaffer ha defendido que el primer tipo de conocimiento no es reductible al segundo. En el presente trabajo se revisan sus argumentos y se concluye que Shaffer no ha conseguido mostrar tal supuesta irreductibilidad. Evidence and First-Person Authority

In this paper, I challlenge David Finkelstein's claim that evidence does not contribute to first-person authority. To this end, I first argue that the phenomenon of first-person authority involves a certain combination of two kinds of authority, namely: an epistemic (insofar as evidence is at issue here) and a practical (insofar as the capacity to shape one's own psychological and dispositions is the central concern) kind of authority. Secondly, I defend the view that gathering evidence plays a crucial role regarding an agent's ability to preserve (or cultivate) her practical authority upon herself.

Robust and accurate human activity recognition (HAR) systems are essential to many human-centric services within active assisted living and healthcare facilities. Traditional HAR systems mostly leverage a single sensing modality (e.g., either wearable, vision, or radio frequency sensing) combined with machine learning techniques to recognize human activities. Such unimodal HAR systems do not cope well with real-time changes in the environment. To overcome this limitation, new HAR systems that incorporate multiple sensing modalities are needed.
