The freshwater pearl mussel Margaritifera margaritifera (FPM) is an endangered unionid which has a glochidium larva that attaches to the gills of Atlantic salmon Salmo salar or brown trout S. trutta, although some FPM populations have been shown to exclusively attach to only one of these species. Carabus scheidleri scheidleri is a very rare, legally protected in Poland species of ground beetle, occurring on single localities mainly in southern part of the country. The Authors present new data about occurrence of this species on the Bolko Island, one of the most valuable nature areas in town of Opole.
