ABSTRACT Background Data are limited regarding bone metastases from colorectal cancer (CRC). The objective of this study was to survey the natural history of bone metastasis in CRC. Patients and methods This retrospective, multicenter, observational study of 264 patients with CRC involving bone examined cancer treatments, bone metastases characteristics, skeletal-related event (SRE) type and frequency, zoledronic acid therapy, and disease outcomes. We read with interest the D-CARE trial report by Robert Coleman and colleagues1 on the adjuvant administration of denosumab in patients with early-stage breast cancer. Despite the negative results, which pose concerns about high dose denosumab schedules in an adjuvant setting, this large and well- designed trial can provide useful clinical data that are usually difficult to obtain from observational studies, particularly regarding medication- related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ).

National Park is in Рolish law one of the most important protection form that is dedicated to areas sustained in natural conditions, having fairly untouched vegetation and biodiversity. Despite that the Silesian Forest-Nature District has a unique areas in terms of nature values as well as cultural and biodiversity heritage, no national parks were established here until now. In the proposed national park of Silesian Forest 50 legally protected plant species were noted, in this 16 listed as threatened in Polish Red Data Book.
