Mapping of Composite Hadrons into Elementary Hadrons and Effective Hadronic Hamiltonians

A mapping technique is used to derive in the context of constituent quark models effective Hamiltonians that involve explicit hadron degrees of freedom. The technique is based on the ideas of mapping between physical and ideal Fock spaces and shares similarities with the quasiparticle method of Weinberg. Starting with the Fock-space representation of single-hadron states, a change of representation is implemented by a unitary transformation such that composites are redescribed by elementary Bose and Fermi field operators in an extended Fock space. MODELING THE TRANSVERSE MOMENTUM DEPENDENT PARTON DISTRIBUTIONS

We review quark model calculations of the transverse momentum dependent parton distributions (TMDs). For the T-even TMDs, we discuss the physical origin of model relations which hold in a large class of quark models. For the T-odd TMDs we review results in a light-cone constituent quark model (CQM) with the final state interaction effects generated via single-gluon exchange mechanism. As phenomenological application, we show the good agreement between results in the light-cone CQM and available experimental data for the Collins asymmetry.

Chemical constituents of the volatile oil of Murraya koenigii leaves

Abstract The chemical composition of the volatile oil of the fresh leaves of Murraya koenigii growing wild in Dehra Dun was analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Thirty-four compounds consisting of 97.4% of the oil were identified. The major constituents identified were α-pinene (51.7%), sabinene (10.5%), β-pinene (9.8%), β-caryophyllene (5.5%), limonene (5.4%), bornyl acetate (1.8%), terpinen-4-ol (1.3%), γ-terpinene (1.2%) and α-humulene (1.2%).

Orientation of newborn mice to lactating females: Identifying biological substrates of semiochemical interest

International audience; Among mammals, odor-based communication between females and infants is decisive for neonatal survival. So far, the nature of odor substrates involved in the localization of the mother and their nipples is unknown in mice. The present study aims: (1) to evaluate the specific attractive value of lactating females to newborn mice, (2) to localize the abdominal region that is most attractive to pups, and (3) to identify odor substrates that support such attraction. Toward fast malaria detection by secondary speckle sensing microscopy

Diagnosis of malaria must be rapid, accurate, simple to use, portable and low cost, as suggested by the World Health Organization (WHO). Despite recent efforts, the gold standard remains the light microscopy of a stained blood film. This method can detect low parasitemia and identify different species of Plasmodium. In a scenario where the constituent quarks are composite systems, generalized parton distributions (GPDs) are built from wave functions to be evaluated in a constituent quark model (CQM), convoluted with the GPDs of the constituent quarks themselves. The approach permits to access the full kinematical range corresponding to the DGLAP and ERBL regions, so that cross-sections for deeply virtual Compton scattering can be estimated.

Spectroscopy, lifetime and decay modes of the $T^-_{bb}$ tetraquark

We present the first full-fledged study of the flavor-exotic isoscalar $T_{bb}^-\equiv b b \bar u \bar d$ tetraquark with spin and parity $J^P=1^+$. We report accurate solutions of the four-body problem in a quark model, characterizing the structure of the state as a function of the ratio $M_Q/m_q$ of the heavy to light quark masses. For such a standard constituent model, $T_{bb}^-$ lies approximately 150 MeV below the strong decay threshold $B^-\bar {B^*}^{0}$ and 105 MeV below the electromagnetic decay threshold $B^- \bar B^0 \gamma$. HEAVY HADRON SPECTROSCOPY: A QUARK MODEL PERSPECTIVE

We present recent results of hadron spectroscopy and hadron hadron interaction from the perspective of constituent quark models. We pay special attention to the role played by higher-order hock space components in the hadron spectra and the connection of this extension with the hadron-hadron interaction. The main goal of our description is to obtain a coherent understanding of the low-energy hadron phenomenology without enforcing any particular model, to constrain its characteristics and learn about the low-energy realization of the theory.

Light baryons and their electromagnetic interactions in the covariant constituent quark model

We extend the confined covariant constituent quark model that was previously developed by us for mesons to the baryon sector. In our numerical calculation we use the same values for the constituent quark masses and the infrared cutoff as have been previously used in the meson sector. In a first application we describe the static properties of the proton and neutron, and the $\Lambda$-hyperon (magnetic moments and charge radii) and the behavior of the nucleon form factors at low momentum transfers. Determination of quadrupole strengths in the γ∗p→Δ(1232) transition at Q2=0.20(GeV/c)2

Abstract We report new precise p ( e → , e ′ p ) π 0 measurements at the peak of the Δ + ( 1232 ) resonance at Q 2 = 0.20 ( GeV / c ) 2 performed at the Mainz Microtron (MAMI). The new data are sensitive to both the electric (E2) and the Coulomb (C2) quadrupole amplitudes of the γ ∗ N → Δ transition. They yield precise quadrupole to dipole amplitude ratios: CMR = ( − 5.09 ± 0.28 stat + sys ± 0.30 model ) % and EMR = ( − 1.96 ± 0.68 stat + sys ± 0.41 model ) % for M 1 + 3 / 2 = ( 39.57 ± 0.75 stat + sys ± 0.40 model ) ( 10 −3 / m π + ) . The new results are in disagreement with Constituent Quark Model predictions and in qualitative agreement with models that account for mesonic contributions…
