2020
Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) and the disease it causes, coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), are causing a rapid and tragic health emergency worldwide [1,2]. Italy was the first European country to experience a virus outbreak, starting on 21 February 2020. It resulted in a national quarantine, and the official lockdown of the country’s non-essential businesses and services began on 9 March 2020. Although several reports are available in the literature providing recommendations for the reorganization of clinical and surgical activities [3–7], to our knowledge, no data are available on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the outcomes of other medical conditi…

Partycypacja obywatelska na poziomie lokalnym — przykład miasta Opola
2020
The issue of citizen participation at the local level becomes important in the practice of Polish cities. How-ever, it should be noted that the initiatives on participation in social consultations undertaken in this area are of an optional nature. The experiences of individual urban centres regarding the involvement of residents in this type of political participation are probably very diverse. The participation of the local community en-ables real recognition and taking into account the needs and expectations of the residents regarding shaping their immediate environment. Thus, it influences the improvement of the quality of life and the optimization of the urban offer. Bad experiences fro…
Teaching medical students online consultation: reframing the doctor-patient exchange
2017
After qualifying, doctors are expected to refine and develop professional knowledge and competences with a greater emphasis on the communication and consultation skills needed to create and maintain a good doctor-patient relationship. The ‘doctorability’, which is the act of legitimating the patient’s decision to seek medical care during the doctor-patient exchange, has been first studied by Heritage and Maynard (2006). However, the concept has been adapted to the new frames offered by the digital context and, as such, Stommel (2010) talks about the ‘forumability’, which refers to the users’ negotiations and legitimization within the group contributing to health fora. Using Digital Discours…
