Student teachers' ways of experiencing the objective of health education as a school subject: A phenomenographic study

Abstract The aim of this phenomenographic study was to identify student teachers' (N = 20) ways of experiencing health education as a school subject, using semi-structured interviews and essays. Employee ‘voice’ and working environment in post-communist New Member States: an empirical analysis of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania

This article examines employee ‘voice’ in workplace health and safety in three Baltic New Member States by means of a cross-national survey. The data point to unresolved problems of voice in the context of rather poor working environments. These present opportunities for collective renewal by trade unions, but paradoxically are more likely to be addressed by employers in the context of significant labour shortages created by a post-European Union accession labour ‘exit’.

Authors are examining current competitiveness situation when economic performance of some countries are significantly better than others and how does it fit in the competitiveness framework set by Europe 2020 strategy. The trust episode in organizations: implications for private and public social capital

Taking into account that research on organizational trust is fragmented, the present article proposes an integrated view of the episode of trust in organizations. To this end, the authors define trust and analyze its proximal and distal sources. They also examine the potential role of context, again considering proximal and distal facets. In addition, they explore the consequences of organizational trust leading to private and public social capital. The core assumption in this chapter is that political actors and civil servants on the municipal level share in the common societal responsibility for the education and upbringing of the next generation. Using a filter of five core public-governance logics in the analysis of our data – the marketplace logic, the managerial, the public, the professional and the ethical –we find both similarities and differences between politicians and civil servants.
