Hacia la convergencia de las estadísticas de las finanzas públicas y la contabilidad pública en Europa a nivel central y local

2018

[EN] The main aim of this paper is to study the convergence between micro and macro systems of government accounting information, looking to contribute to the analysis of accounting harmonization process in the EU, as a tool to improve the comparability of financial, budgetary, and aggregated statistical reports, in order to improve social, political and economic decision-making and accountability. All this is obviously located in the current context of the EU, with a high degree of harmonization of accounting standards between the International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS), and those applied for the preparation of national accounts, ruled by European System of National and Re…

Convergence of Agents' and Targets' Reports on Intraorganizational Influence Attempts1

2003

Summary The object of the current study was to determine the convergent and discriminant validity of agents' and targets' reports on intraorganizational influence attempts with a structural equation model using latent state-trait analyses. To explain agent-target convergence, we linked the theory of formal organizations to Correspondent Inference Theory. Managers (agents) were asked to describe how they try to influence their boss, a coworker, and a subordinate. These targets also described how the agent tries to influence them. Both agents and targets rated four types of influence attempts twice within 2½ months, namely, rational persuasion, ingratiation, pressure, and upward appeals. In …

Labor Productivity Growth: Disentangling Technology and Capital Accumulation

2014

We adopt a counterfactual approach to decompose labor productivity growth into growth of Technological Productivity (TEP), growth of the capital-labor ratio and growth of Total Factor Productivity (TFP). We bring the decomposition to the data using international countrysectoral information spanning from the 1960s to the 2000s and a nonparametric generalized kernel method, which enables us to estimate the production function allowing for heterogeneity across all relevant dimensions: countries, sectors and time. As well as documenting substantial heterogeneity across countries and sectors, we nd average TEP to account for about 44% of labor productivity growth and TEP gaps with respect to the…

Calculation of frequency-dependent polarizabilities using general coupled-cluster models

2006

Abstract An analytic scheme for the calculation of frequency-dependent polarizabilities within a response-theory approach has been implemented for the use within general coupled-cluster (CC) models with arbitrary excitations in the cluster operator. Calculations for CH + and CN demonstrate the fast convergence of the coupled-cluster approach when successively higher excitations are considered. Quadruple excitation effects on the frequency-dependent polarizabilities are found to be rather small except close to the poles.

Basis Set Convergence of Indirect Spin-Spin Coupling Constants in the Kohn-Sham Limit for Several Small Molecules

2012

The performance of more than 40 density functionals in predicting indirect spin-spin coupling constants (SSCCs) in the Kohn-Sham basis set limit was tested. For comparison, similar calculations were performed using the RHF, SOPPA, SOPPA(CC2), and SOPPA(CCSD) methods, and the results were estimated toward the complete basis set (CBS) limit. The SSCCs of nine small molecules (N(2), CO, CO(2), NH(3), CH(4), C(2)H(2), C(2)H(4), C(2)H(6), and C(6)H(6)) were calculated using the dedicated Jensen pcJ-n polarization-consistent basis sets and used for the CBS limit estimations within the Kohn-Sham limit. These CBS results were compared with calculations using the aug-cc-pVTZ-J basis set. Among the 4…

Why France and India? The Convergence Hypothesis

2016

The cross-fertilization of insights derived from French and Indian intellectual history has ignited a pluridisciplinary reflection on the role played by these two countries in the fabric of the knowledge-based economy in the twenty-first century. On the one hand, the Age of Enlightenment in Western Europe in the eighteenth century, brought forward an autonomous position for knowledge in human societies, and, on the other hand, it was once predicted that India’s future would be built in her classrooms (Education Commission). Finally, we lay the ground for the characterization of a triple knowledge-based convergence between the two higher-education systems on academic, economic and institutio…

Analysis and approximation of one-dimensional scalar conservation laws with general point constraints on the flux

2016

We introduce and analyze a class of models with nonlocal point constraints for traffic flow through bottlenecks, such as exits in the context of pedestrians traffic and reduction of lanes on a road under construction in vehicular traffic. Constraints are defined based on data collected from non-local in space and/or in time observations of the flow. We propose a theoretical analysis and discretization framework that permits to include different data acquisition strategies; a numerical comparison is provided. Nonlocal constraint allows to model, e.g., the irrational behavior (" panic ") near the exit observed in dense crowds and the capacity drop at tollbooth in vehicular traffic. Existence …
