The Electronic Historical Latvian Dictionary Based on the Corpus of Early Written Latvian Texts This article deals with the development of the Electronic Historical Latvian Dictionary (http://www.tezaurs.lv/lvvv) based on the Corpus of Early Written Latvian Texts (http://www.korpuss.lv/senie/). Some issues concerning the compilation and processing of the corpus data are discussed and the main sources added to the Corpus during the four-year project are described: the 16th c. Lord’s Prayers , 17th c. dictionaries, texts of oaths and laws, religious texts and so-called dedication poetry. Lai gan internets un tehnoloģijas nav vienīgie faktori, kas mūsdienās sekmē izmaiņas valodā, tie noteikti ir snieguši savu ieguldījumu. Tā kā tīmekļa valodas un sociālo tīklu jēdzieni ir salīdzinoši jauni, nav daudz pētījumu veikti par tīmekļa lingvistiskajām iezīmēm. Tāpēc šī darba mērķis ir izpētīt valodas iezīmes Forbes ierakstos Facebook vietnē. Kā pētījuma metodes tiek izmantots literatūras apskats un kvantitatīva un kvalitatīva uz teksta krājuma balstīta lingvistiskā analīze kā arī tiek izmantota aptauja. Functionally-defined recurrent multi-word units in English-to-Polish translation

This study uses both parallel and comparable reference corpora in the English-Polish language pair to explore how translators deal with recurrent multi-word items performing specific discoursal functions.We also consider whether the observed tendencies overlap with those found in native texts,and the extent to which the discoursal functions realised by themulti-word items under scrutiny are “preserved” in translation.
