Direct temporal reconstruction of picosecond pulse by cross-correlation in semiconductor device

2012

Cross-correlation measurements using the two-photon absorption process in a semiconductor is experimentally demonstrated for two pulses of different wavelengths (shifted by ~200 nm) and durations (20 times ratio). These measurements were found to be highly repeatable and fully suitable for the determination of the temporal intensity profile of picosecond (ps) pulses.

Fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS) was first developed for biophysical studies in analogy with photon scattering correlation spectroscopy. Although it is mainly devoted to the study of freely diffusing particles, FCS is actually able to discern between different kinds of motions, such as diffusion, anomalous diffusion, or drift motions. The frontier application of FCS nowadays is in medical studies both within cells and on the cell membranes, and in the investigation of single molecules in solid matrices. Repeatability of the resonance frequency analysis values in implants with a new technology

Background Assess the reliability (by means of reproducibility and repeatability) of the PenguinRFA system, analyse the ISQ values of different implant types and correlate the ISQ with the insertion torque during the placement of the implant. Material and Methods 120 rough surface implants were placed in bovine bone (type II and III). The implants were divided into groups, according to its design. Once the implants were in place, the exact insertion torque was registered. Easy-use and low-cost fiber-based two-color dynamic light-scattering apparatus

We present a small and compact two-color cross-correlation light-scattering setup designed to study the structure and dynamics of colloidal suspensions in the regime of considerable turbidity. Using a homemade concentric four-arm goniometer, combined with fiber-optical illumination and detection devices, allows an easy and long time stable alignment-even under a temperature variation of ∼5 °C. Tests with a nearly multiple scattering free suspension of small Rayleigh scatterers show intercepts in cross correlation near 0.4 over a wide range of scattering angles from 20° to 150°. Ti6Al4V is probably the best known and studied titanium alloy, not only for aerospace applications. Nevertheless the deformation behavior still represents a challenge if any modification in the deformation process is required or introduced. This work deals with deformation behavior description of Ti6Al4V HIPped powders during high temperature deformation tests carried on in the Beta-region. Thin-walled carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) shells are increasingly used in aerospace industry. Such shells are prone to the loss of stability under compressive loads. Furthermore, the instability onset of monocoque shells exhibits a pronounced imperfection sensitivity. The vibration correlation technique (VCT) is being developed as a nondestructive test method for evaluation of the buckling load of the shells. Background The aims of the study were measuring the light intensity of light curing units used in Qazvin's dental offices, determining the relationship between the clinical age of these units and their light intensity, and identifying the reasons for repairing them. Model of partial crystallization and melting derived from small-angle X-ray scattering and electron microscopic studies on low-density polyethylene

A temperature-dependent small-angle x-ray scattering and electron microscopic study on a sample of low-density polyethylene affords a determination of the structure changes in a heating and cooling cycle and suggests a new model of partial crystallization and melting. The analysis of SAXS data is based upon some general properties of the electron-density correlation function. Electron micrographs are obtained from stained sections γ irradiated at elevated temperatures and are analyzed quantitatively by statistical means.
