Mathematics can help investigate hidden patterns and structures in music and visual arts. Also, math in and of itself possesses an intrinsic beauty. We can explore such a specific beauty through the comparison of objects and processes in math with objects and processes in the arts. White light can be decomposed into different colors, and a complex sound wave can be decomposed into its partials. While the physics behind transverse and longitudinal waves is quite different and several theories have been developed to investigate the complexity of colors and timbres, we can try to model their structural similarities through the language of categories. Crossmodal correspondences between typefaces and food preferences drive congruent choices but not among young consumers

Abstract Several studies suggest that consumers match stimuli across sensory modalities, with angular (vs. round) typefaces typically associated with sourness (vs. sweetness). Drawing on findings from the field of crossmodal correspondences, this study (N = 220) examined potential typeface effects in naturalistic settings and found that exposure to angular (vs. round) typeface increased (decreased) consumers’ preferences for sour (sweet) food but had no impact on their expectations or perceptions of these tastes. Bakalaura darba “Latgaliešu rakstu valodas prievārdu da, iz, apleik atbilsme latviešu literārajā valodā” mērķis ir pētīt un salīdzināt no latviešu literārās valodas atšķirīgus prievārdus latgaliešu rakstu valodā. Pētījuma uzdevumi ir teorētisko materiālu apkopošana, valodas piemēru vākšana un analizēšana gan latviešu literārajā, gan latgaliešu rakstu valodā, pētot kā latgaliešu rakstu valodas prievārdi atbilst latviešu literārās valodas prievārdiem. Piemēru atlasei izmantots “Līdzsvarotais mūsdienu latviešu valodas tekstu korpuss 2018”, kā arī “Mūsdienu latgaliešu tekstu korpuss”. Darbs sastāv no ievada, saīsinājumu saraksta, četrām nodaļām, secinājumiem un izmantotās literatūras saraksta.
