Electrochemistry and Spectroelectrochemistry of Bismanganese Porphyrin-Corrole Dyads

A series of homobimetallic manganese cofacial porphyrin-corrole dyads were synthesized and investigated as to their electrochemistry, spectroelectrochemistry, and ligand binding properties in nonaqueous media. Four dyads were investigated, each of which contained a Mn(III) corrole linked in a face-to-face arrangement with a Mn(III) porphyrin. The main difference between compounds in the series is the type of spacer, 9,9-dimethylxanthene, anthracene, dibenzofuran, or diphenylether, which determines the distance and interaction between the metallomacrocycles. Detection and monitoring of carbon monoxide using cobalt corroles film on Love wave devices with delay line configuration

Among specific sensitive materials synthesized for chemical sensor development, cobalt corrole have shown attractive capabilities for CO detection [1, 2]. In this paper, we investigate the possibility to exploit such materials to develop surface acoustic wave (SAW)-based sensors. We actually demonstrate that SAW devices using delay line configuration allow investigating the molecular recognition occurring in non-conductive sensing layers of cobalt corroles. We have monitored phase variations of SAW devices versus various CO concentrations. Surface Acoustic Wave Sensors for the Detection of Hazardous Compounds in Indoor Air

The great capabilities of cobalt corroles for the trapping of carbon monoxide (CO) were exploited to produce selective sensors. These corroles were deposited on SAW delay lines surfaces and then exposed to carbon monoxide (CO) in standard conditions. Easy access to heterobimetallic complexes for medical imaging applications via microwave-enhanced cycloaddition

The Cu(I)-catalysed Huisgen cycloaddition, known as “click” reaction, has been applied to the synthesis of a range of triazole-linked porphyrin/corrole to DOTA/NOTA derivatives. Microwave irradiation significantly accelerates the reaction. The synthesis of heterobimetallic complexes was easily achieved in up to 60% isolated yield. Heterobimetallic complexes were easily prepared as potential MRI/PET (SPECT) bimodal contrast agents incorporating one metal (Mn, Gd) for the enhancement of contrast for MRI applications and one “cold” metal (Cu, Ga, In) for future radionuclear imaging applications. Selective chemisorption of carbon monoxide by organic-inorganic hybrid materials incorporating cobalt(III) corroles as sensing components.

Twenty-one hybrid materials incorporating cobalt(III) corrole complexes were synthesized by a sol–gel process or by grafting the metallocorrole onto a mesostructured silica of the SBA-15 type. All the materials show an almost infinite selectivity for carbon monoxide with respect to dinitrogen and dioxygen in the low-pressure domain where the chemisorption phenomenon is predominant. This peculiar property is of prime importance for an application as a CO sensor. The selectivity slightly decreases at high pressures where nonselective physisorption phenomena mainly occur. Abstract The phenyliron derivative, [Fe(oetpp)C6H5)]SbCl6 (2) generated in dichloromethane by oxidation of the phenyliron(III) complex, Fe(III) (oetpp)C6H5 (1) of the 2,3,7,8,12,13,17,18-octaethyl-5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphyrin with 1 equiv. of phenoxathiinylium hexachloroantimonate, [C12H8OS]SbCl6, was studied by Mossbauer spectroscopy. This compound exhibits an isomer shift δ of 0.13 mm s−1 and a quadrupole splitting ΔEQ of 3.23 mm s−1.
