Optimization of the characteristic angles of both front and rear McPherson suspensions on a circular track using multi-body numerical simulation

The research reported in this paper aims to simulate the road-holding of a virtual vehicle using multi-body simulation to estimate both the contact forces between the tyre and ground and the roll motion when cornering. Furthermore, the effect of the characteristic angles on the variation in the forces of the tyre in contact with the ground is studied to determine optimal values for these angles. Emphasis is placed on an average-class vehicle, of which both the external dimensions and mass are chosen appropriately, with a McPherson suspension mounted on both the front and the rear. L'antico campanile della cattedrale di Lecce si trovava in una posizione diversa rispetto a quello esistente costruito nel 1658. La maestosa torre, con cinque ordini e una terminazione a corona, era collocata di fianco all'antica facciata principale della chiesa, sul lato sinistro. Nel 1574 a causa di numerosi crolli, gli amministratori della chiesa decisero di avvalersi del parere tecnico di tre professionisti: Padoano Schiero, Padoano Baxi e Gabriele Meschinello, chiamati ad esprimersi in merito alla pericolosità di tali crolli e allo stato della torre. Hyperuricemia (HU) and tumour lysis syndrome (TLS) are complications of acute leukaemia and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) leading to increased morbidity and mortality. The objective of this study was to define incidence and calculate health care cost associated with HU and TLS. 788 acute leukaemia and NHL patients from Belgium, The Netherlands, Spain and UK were screened retrospectively for HU and TLS. Resource use related to HU and TLS was recorded and costs were calculated applying local unit costs. Results showed that HU occurred in 18.9% of patients, and 27.8% of them fulfilled TLS criteria. Purpose Oncofertility focuses on providing fertility and endocrine-sparing options to patients who undergo life-preserving but gonadotoxic cancer treatment. The resources needed to meet patient demand often are fragmented along disciplinary lines. We quantify assets and gaps in oncofertility care on a global scale. On the Use of the Eddy Covariance Latent Heat Flux and Sap Flow Transpiration for the Validation of a Surface Energy Balance Model

Actual evapotranspiration is assessed via surface energy balance at an hourly rate. However, a robust estimation of daily evapotranspiration from hourly values is required. Outcomes of surface energy balance are frequently determined via measures of eddy covariance latent heat flux. Surface energy balance can be applied on images acquired at different times and spatial resolutions. Evaluation of Small Vase and Y-trellis Orchard Systems for Peach and Nectarine Production in Mediterranean Regions

Two peach planting systems, Small Vase (SV) and Y-trellis (Y), were evaluated and compared in the Mediterranean settings of Southern Italy. The two orchards were located next to each other on relatively uniform soil and terrain, and the observations included two peach (‘Rich May’ and ‘Summer Rich’) and two nectarine (‘Big Bang’ and ‘Nectaross’) cultivars. In the SV system, trees were spaced at 4.5 A— 2.5 m (888 trees/ha), whereas in the Y system, trees were spaced at 5.5 A— 2 m (909 trees/ha) and no canopy gap was left between rows. Construction sequence analysis of long-span cable-stayed bridges

Abstract In cantilever construction of long-span cable-stayed bridges the stressing sequence of stays is fundamental for establishing the final configuration of the bridge. The structural behaviour of these bridges is usually evaluated through a forward staged construction analysis, in which the values of the prestressing forces to be applied to stays are the main unknowns.
