The setting of “The Transition of Juan Romero” – the short story by Howard Phillips Lovecraft, who was the originator of modern American horror fiction – is “the gold mine in the Cactus Range”. Drawing on the theories of Carl Gustav Jung, the author of the present interpretation amplifies the cultural dimensions of Lovecraft’s text, giving prominence to its origin from the ancient myths of the Aztecs, and using the so-called psychological alchemy to show the archetypal symbolism and structure of the story. Tämä tutkimus käsittelee massiivisesti monipelattavan netti rooli-peli World of Warcratin pelaamisen ajallisia ja paikallisia rajoja fenomenologisella ja autoetnografisella lähestymistavalla. Tutkimus selvittää tapahtuuko pelaaminen taikapiirin sisällä ja voidaanko taikapiirin rajojen katsoa olevan samat kuin itse digitaalisen pelin. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli tutkia, onko lasten käyttäjäkokemuksissa eroja heidän pelatessa digitaalista peliä kahdessa eri kontekstissa. Käyttäjäkokemuk-sia selvitettiin myös tarkastelemalla pelaajien flow kokemuksia. Tutkimuksessa käytettiin MinecraftEdu peliä, joka on TeacherGaming LLC yrityksen tekemä vi-rallinen opetusversio Minecraft pelistä. Hidden Oscillations In The Closed-Loop Aircraft-Pilot System And Their Prevention

The paper is devoted to studying and prevention of a special kind of oscillations-the Pilot Involved Oscillations (PIOs) which may appear in man-machine closed-loop dynamical systems. The PIO of categories II and III are defined as essentially non-linear unintended steady fluctuations of the piloted aircraft, generated due to pilot efforts to control the aircraft with a high precision. The main non-linear factor leading to the PIO is, generally, rate limitations of the aircraft control surfaces, resulting in a delay in the response of the aircraft to pilot commands. The actions that individuals take to proactively craft their jobs are important to help create more meaningful and personally enriching work experiences. But do these proactive behaviors have implications beyond working life? Inspired by the suggestion that individuals aim for a meaningful life we examine whether on days when individuals craft their jobs, they are more likely to craft non-work activities. It also seems likely that characteristics of the home environment moderate these cross-domain relationships. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki aproksymacji przykładowych danych pomiaru prawdopodobieństwa odbioru sygnału NIEBEZPIECZEŃSTWO. Prawdopodobieństwo to rozpatruje się jako funkcję odległości pomiędzy statkiem powietrznym a systemem naziemnym w ustalonych warunkach pomiaru. Aproksymację danych pomiarowych zrealizowano korzystając z własności funkcji logistycznej. Prawdopodobieństwo jako funkcja odległości pozwala na określenie zasięgu sygnału NIEBEZPIECZEŃSTWO dla zadanego poziomu ufności.
