Conceptualizing the Value Co-Destruction Process for Service Systems: Literature Review and Synthesis

This study conceptualizes the notion of value co-destruction by reviewing and synthesizing the scattered and scarce value co-destruction literature in interdisciplinary fields. Building on our synthesis, we outline a conceptual framework for the value co-destruction process consisting of three interrelated categories of key concepts. Our framework helps in identifying, analyzing and rectifying unwanted outcomes of a service process and highlighting the dynamic nature of value co-destruction in service systems. peerReviewed

Value Co-Creation and Co-Destruction in Online Video Games : An Exploratory Study and Implications for Future Research

In this empirical study we studied how players of online video games co-create and co-destroy value. From players’ perceptions we identified that value co-creation and co-destruction occur amid themes of giving feedback and building relations. Feedback encourages players but it may also be harmful in the form of verbal abuse. Building relations relates to making friends in general but also on an international level. Comparing Conservation Value Maps and Mapping Methods in a Rural Landscape in Southern Finland

We tested to what extent conservation value maps are different if the valuation and mapping method is changed. We compared 66 different conservation value and 4 different ecosystem service maps. Using remote sensing and other georeferenced data, we produced 2 different habitat type maps, which were 50 % similar. We valued each mapped habitat type based on rarity corrected potential number of vascular plant species and naturalness using 6 different valuation alternatives. This paper concentrates on the way in which a few Romantic poets tried to share their first impressions of landscape when addressing close friends or relatives in familiar letters. In these letters, we do not have the poetic re-creation of an artefact inspired by a landscape; because letters are supposed to be spontaneous, they reflect perceptions and emotions with less aesthetic distance than a poem. As such they are revealing, not only of each writer's concerns and reactions, but also of the way his perceptions have been shaped by education and former experiences.
