Researchers at the University of Palermo, in collaboration with the CNR ITABC for the project PRIN 2008, they have made a preliminary study for an archaeological GIS divided into areas I-XI of Sabratha to gather information on the monuments already studied, or under study, and to promote analysis regarding the reuse of space in the Regiones III-V, after the destruction attributed to the earthquake on 21th of July 365. This volume, not a simple archaeological guide, adds to the description of the monuments and museums of Sabratha also some reflections on general themes as sculpture, urban developement, religious architecture, civic and domestic buildings, paintings and mosaics of the punico-hellenistic, Roman and Christian Sabratha. It also gives account of the researches of the Archaeological Mission of the Palermo University, directed by the late Professor Nicola Bonacasa, and it includes the contribution of external scholars, which very recently published some monuments of great interest.

The Harvesting Memories Project (funded by Bona Furtuna LLC) aims to investigate the long-term landscape transformations in the central part of the Alto Belice Corleonese (Central-Western Sicily). The case study area is formed by a sequence of gentle hills (Contrade Castro and Giardinello), rich in water springs that offer an optimal condition for agricultural exploitation, irregularly interrupted by the Mt. Barraù (1420 m a.s.l.) with steep and abrupt slopes in the south-west side. In 1996 and 1997, a century after the excavations conducted by F. Halbherr, new soundings were conducted in the Greek agora at Gortyna as part of the activities of the Italian Archaeological School at Athens, and with the permission and cooperation of the 23th Ephoria of Antiquities of Heraklion. The excations started from the western edge of the agora, by the Mitropolianos torrent, where F. Halbherr and L. Pernier had discovered three parallel walls. An analysis of the archaeological data, the topographical and documentary sources of Christianity in the vast territory between the Belice and Salso rivers, which, in Late Antiquity, fell under the Diocese of Agrigento and Triocala (Caltabellotta today) and that, only with Rogerii et Siciliae Calabriae Comitis Privilegium of 1093, were fully allocated to Gerlando,the bishop of Agrigento.
