An Empirical Analysis of the Lead Lag Relationship Between CDS and Stock Market
2018
This paper complements the recent literature providing a thorough research of the lead lag relationship between stock and sovereign CDS markets using a rolling VAR framework. We find that the transmission channel between the credit and stock market exist. This phenomenon is time varying, it seems to be related with the economic cycle and in general, it’s more intense in US than in Europe.
Synthesis of a new family of bi- and polycyclic compounds via Pd-catalyzed amination of 1,7-di(3-bromobenzyl)cyclen
2008
Abstract New bicyclic cryptand type compounds are synthesized by reacting 1,7-di(3-bromobenzyl)cyclen with 1 equiv of linear polyamines under dilute conditions using Pd-catalyzed amination. Bis(cyclen) and tris(cyclen) compounds containing linear polyamine linkers between benzylated cyclens are obtained by a similar procedure using different reaction conditions. Cyclization of these species via intramolecular catalytic diamination led to tri- and tetracyclic polyaza compounds.
Application of tris-allyl-DOTA in the preparation of DOTA–peptide conjugates
2006
Abstract The synthesis of tris-allyl-DOTA starting from cyclen and its application in the preparation of DOTA–peptide conjugates is reported. Clinically important conjugates such as DOTA–Tyr3-octreotide (DOTA–TOC), DOTA–Tyr3-octreotate (DOTA–TATE) as well as a DOTA–RGD peptide were synthesized in high yields with Fmoc solid phase peptide synthesis. The final, extremely reliable de-allylation was achieved on solid phase by different methods identifying morpholine/Pd(0) as the most suitable one obtaining all DOTA peptide conjugates in high yields. All DOTA–peptides were purified by reversed phase HPLC and structural identity was proved using MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry.
2,6,10-Trichlorotris[1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a:1′,5′-c:1′′,5′′-e][1,3,5]triazine
2018
Three very similar and nearly planar molecules are present in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C6Cl3N9. Whereas the threefold 1,5-annulation of the chlorotriazole moieties is obvious, all of the C and N atoms in the central triazine ring are equally disordered on the same site, approachingD3hsymmetry for each of the molecules.
Seasonal cycles and variability of O3 and H2O in the UT/LMS during SPURT
2005
Abstract. Airborne high resolution in situ measurements of a large set of trace gases including ozone (O3) and total water (H2O) in the upper troposphere and the lowermost stratosphere (UT/LMS) have been performed above Europe within the SPURT project. With its innovative campaign concept, SPURT provides an extensive data coverage of the UT/LMS in each season within the time period between November 2001 and July 2003. Ozone volume mixing ratios in the LMS show a distinct spring maximum and autumn minimum, whereas the O3 seasonal cycle in the UT is shifted by 2 to 3 month later towards the end of the year. The more variable H2O measurements reveal a maximum during spring/summer and a minimum…
Effects of model configuration for superparametrised long-term simulations – Implementation of a cloud resolving model in EMAC (v2.50)
2019
Abstract. A new module has been implemented in the ECHAM5/MESSy Atmospheric Chemistry (EMAC) Model that simulates cloud related processes on a much smaller grid. This so called superparametrisation acts as a replacement for the convection parametrisation and large-scale cloud scheme. The concept of embedding an ensemble of cloud resolving models (CRMs) inside of each grid box of a general circulation model leads to an explicit representation of cloud dynamics. The new model component is evaluated against observations and the conventional usage of EMAC using a convection parametrisation. In particular, effects of applying different configurations of the superparametrisation are analyzed in a…
Smart vs conventional motorways: environmental impact assessment under realistic traffic conditions
2020
Abstract This research aims at assessing the environmental impacts exerted by a smart motorway compared to those of a traditional motorway. The study has global policy implications: it takes into account the impacts due to the construction and maintenance of the infrastructure and the environmental effects produced by the traffic emissions, taking into account smart technologies and truck platooning regulation. Through a classical LCA approach, 1 km-long smart motorway with 2 m-high embankment was assumed as the functional unit for the analysis. A realistic traffic condition has been considered. A comparison between environmental effects produced by the use of virgin material and by Reclaim…

Tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) and immune checkpoint inhibitors predominate as first-line therapy options for renal cell carcinoma. When first-line TKI therapy fails due to resistance development, an optimal second-line therapy has not yet been established. The present investigation is directed towards comparing the anti-angiogenic properties of the TKIs, sorafenib and axitinib on human endothelial cells (HUVECs) with acquired resistance towards the TKI sunitinib. HUVECs were driven to resistance by continuously exposing them to sunitinib for six weeks. They were then switched to a 24 h or further six weeks treatment with sorafenib or axitinib. HUVEC growth, as well as angiogenesis (tube…
Synthesis and biological evaluation of 2-(3 ',4 ',5 '-trimethoxybenzoyl)-3-amino 5-aryl thiophenes as a new class of tubulin inhibitors
2006
2-(3',4',5'-Trimethoxybenzoyl)-3-amino-5-aryl/heteroaryl thiophene derivatives were synthesized and evaluated for antiproliferative activity, inhibition of tubulin polymerization, and cell cycle effects. SARs were elucidated with various substitutions on the aryl moiety 5-position of the thienyl ring. Substituents at the para-position of the 5-phenyl group showed antiproliferative activity in the order of F=CH(3) > OCH(3)=Br=NO(2) > CF(3)=I > OEt. Several of these compounds led to arrest of HL-60 cells in the G2/M phase of the cell cycle and induction of apoptosis.
p53 Isoform D133p53a: A Novel Transcriptional Enhancer of T-Cell Effector Function to Improve T-Cell Based Cancer Immunotherapy
2018
Abstract Background: Adoptive transfer of genetically modified T lymphocytes with tumor antigen-specific receptor has proven efficacy in cancer immunotherapy. However, in many patients the overall benefit is still limited due to various tumor escape mechanisms. Cell damage and metabolic/hypoxic stress in the tumor microenvironment (TME) can lead to a dysfunctional anti-tumor T cell response called T cell senescence. The tumor suppressor TP53 is a master molecule in the regulation of cell cycle and senescence. Few studies have demonstrated the critical role of p53 isoforms in the regulation of cellular senescence mainly in tumor cells. However, their role in tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (T…
