The aim of this paper is to analyse the interconnections among the so-called “grey area” citizens, who have great difficult to get an own house, and the public (and private) stakeholders that have a key part to play in translating the housing politics into practice. ANOTĀCIJA Promocijas darbs izstrādāts Latvijas Valsts mežzinātnes institūtā „Silava”. Pētījuma mērķis bija identificēt aktīvos retrotranspozonus parastās priedes (Pinus sylvestris L.) genomā un raksturot to transkripcijas līmeni dažādu stresa veidu ietekmē kontrolētos apstākļos. Pētījumā izmantoti nespecifiskie retrotranspozonu marķieri balstīti uz augsti konservatīvām tRNS piesaistes vietām. Viena klona priežu rametus pakļāva dabā izplatītam karstuma stresam, kukaiņu invāzijai (priežu hermess (Pineus pini L.), kā arī mākslīgi izraisītai augu hormonu (abscīzskābes un salicilskābes) ietekmei. Režģa Bolcmaņa metodes lietojums konvekcijas-difūzijas-reakcijas problēmām

Darbs ir veltīts režģa Bolcmaņa metodes pielietojumiem Navjē-Stoksa vienādojuma, konvekcijas-difūzijas-reakcijas vienādojuma un to sistēmu risināšanā. Šādas sistēmas parādās, modelējot enerģijas un masas pārneses uzdevumus, tostarp tādus, kas iekļauj ķīmiskās reakcijas. Darba ietvaros ir apskatīta metodes implementācija ar dažāda veida robežnosacījumiem, un izstrādāti MATLAB risinājumi divās telpas dimensijās plūsmai Teslas ventilī, degšanas procesam porainā vidē, siltumvadīšanas vienādojumam un cilindra aptecēšanai. Ir piedāvāti ieteikumi optimālai metodes implementācijai.

Road accidents represent one of the most serious problems faced by the Ministries of Public Health in the World. In Italy for example, in the year 2007 there were almost 330, 000 injuries and 5, 131 fatalities; 230, 871 crashes in all which resulted in an estimated € 30.4 billion financial loss, corresponding to 2% of GDP. In 1999 the National Road Safety Plan (NRSP), among other things, funded the requalification of several unsafe road infrastructures at higher risk of accidents. The available knowledge of traffic safety at roundabouts is not a complete reference for geometric design; where there are organizational schemes for junctions characterized by a geometric design, quite different driving behaviours are required from those that are observable at roundabouts. In the last few years a considerable amount of safety models and evaluation tasks have been developed and specifically dedicated to roundabouts. Several safety performance functions (SPFs), indeed, have been implemented for roundabouts worldwide. Since SPFs are developed using crashes, traffic volume and other characteristics of a specific site (or geographical area), their direct transferability to other contexts different from those in which SPFs were calibrated is not always possible and, in any case, it must be done very carefully.
