Modālie darbības vārdi ir lingvistisko līdzekļu kopums, kas izpauž sprieduma līmeni par to vai darbība ir iespējama, varbūtīga, viennozīmīga, ticama, atļauta vai aizliegta, nevis norāda to kā faktu. Šī pētījuma mērķis ir izanalizēt modālo darbības vārdu lietojumu biznesa projektu pārskatos. Teorētiskais pamatojums ir balstīts uz Baibera, Konrada, Līča un Longa (Biber, Conrad, Leech and Long) 2002) modālo darbības vārdu semantisko kategorizāciju. Empīriskā pētījuma metode, kas tiek pielāgota šim darbam ir diskursa analīze. Visbiežāk izmantotie modālie darbības vārdi ir can un will, izpaužot iespējamības un prognozes funkcijas, veidojot loģisko nozīmi.

Il volume analizza in un’ottica comparatistica il tema della solidarietà intergenerazionale con particolare riferimento al dovere di assistenza nei confronti del genitore in stato di bisogno. Accanto ad un modello ben noto di ricostruzione dell’obbligazione alimentare in termini solidaristici, l’indagine ha rilevato la presenza di un modello definibile come compensativo-retributivo, il cui riferimento metagiuridico è da riscontrarsi non nella preservazione della vita dell’alimentando, ma in quello della gratitudine e riconoscenza a lui dovuta per il fatto della generazione. Šis pētījums ir mērķēts uz modālo vārdu un vārdkopu analīzi 37 ekonomikas tekstos no The Economist, lai tālāk analizētu, kāda nozīme ir izteikta ar konkrēto modālu lietošanu. Dans le cadre d’un travail de recherche en Analyse Conversationnelle (Sacks, 1992) traitant des dimensions linguistiques et multimodales des interactions entre le personnel de service et les clients lors d’un repas au restaurant, nous avons élaboré une partie de notre corpus dans un restaurant expérimental équipé d’un système d’enregistrement audio et vidéo. Bakalaura darbs ir veltīts epistēmiskās objektivitātes un epistēmiskās modalitātes žurnālistikas diskursā jautājuma apskatei itāļu laikrakstā "Corriere della Sera".
