Cross validation of hard-copy and web-based formats of the Sport Imagery Ability Measure

The purpose of this multi-sample study was to examine the psychometric characteristics, factor structure, and measurement invariance of the hard-copy and web-based versions of a measure of sport imagery ability, termed Sport Imagery Ability Measure (SIAM). In the first sample, Spanish athletes (N = 274, 161 men, 113 women, Mage = 21.91, SD = 6.67) completed a hard-copy version of the SIAM. A newly developed web-based version of the SIAM was cross validated in an independent group (N = 266, 147 men, 119 women, Mage = 25.93, SD = 9.84). A regio- and stereoselective method has been developed for the synthesis of novel fluorinated 2-aminocyclohexanecarboxylic acid derivatives with the fluorine attached to position 4 of the ring. The synthesis starts from either cis- or trans-β-aminocyclohex-4-enecarboxylic acids and involves regio- and stereoselective transformation of the ring C–C double bond through iodooxazine formation and hydroxylation, followed by hydroxy–fluorine or oxo–fluorine exchange.

Taphonomic studies dealing with small mammals do not usually consider bats. Therefore, the degree to which bat bones are modi? ed by predation and other taphonomic agents are largely unknown. Here we present the results obtained from a set of experiments developed to approach this issue, focusing initially on the e?ect of digestion. For this purpose several bat bones and teeth were exposed to HCl and to two di?erent proteolithic enzymes. The experiments showed that bat bones are altered by acidic and enzymatic attack in a similar way as the bones of other small mammals. The effects of oxidative stress on telomeres and cell life span

Stres oksydacyjny związany jest ze zbyt dużą ilością reaktywnych związków tlenowych (ROS) w organizmie. Źródłem ROS jest łańcuch oddechowy, komórki odpornościowe oraz czynniki zewnętrzne, np. palenie tytoniu. W wyniku aktywności ROS uszkodzeniu mogą ulegać telomery, nukleoproteinowe struktury chroniące końce chromosomów, co prowadzi do nadmiernego ich skracania się. W konsekwencji komórki posiadające krótsze telomery szybciej starzeją się i ulegają śmierci. W pracy przedstawiono wpływ ROS na tempo skracania się telomerów i długość życia komórek.
